Stayed here over December for 2 nights and the service here was really good - it's typical japanese service, friendly and very accomodative (despite my 2 year old son shattering one of their christmas decorations). Breakfast was good as well, and while there's not much frills, the location in front of the canal is really unbeatable. There IS wi-fi in... More

Hotel has no laundry service but two self-service laundry machines tucked away through the front stairs to 2nd floor by the spa (soap provided, 500 yen a load, staff very stern about getting the key back). There is no wi-fi in rooms, and wasn't working in the 1st floor lounge, however was available from the 2nd floor lounge. Cozy, quaint,... More

Everything is perfect in this hotel: location, room, view, service, food, hot spring... We stayed at the room with hot spring inside overlooking the canal and ocean. Dinner is soooo nice with fresh seafood sashimi and every night different types of hot food. All staffs are very professional and attentive. Location is perfect. We will definitely return and recommend to... More

Otaru is such a cute, lovely city. Though it's quite small, there are lots of pretty buildings with orgol music in the air. A guide book said, 'it's not worth while to stay a night in Otaru, 'cause most of the facilities closes around 6pm, and nothing more to see other then those.'. Yes, it's true, most of the shops... It is a modern onsen hotel right next to the canal. It does not have a grand entrance like the traditional onsen hotels, but we were impressed by its nicely decorated lobby. It is so cosy and unique. The staff are very friendly too. Its onsen is relatively small but nice. The room is quite spacious. The location is great,... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Furukawa Ryokan in Otaru. The friendliness of the staff, together with the quality of the resort made for a very relaxing stay. We particularly enjoyed chilling out in the library with a bottle of wine after taking an onsen bath, listening to the nice music. The rooms were clean and quiet, with a... More

Our first stay here on our 3rd trip to Otaru. For the price, it offers sufficient space and more than adequate service. Rooms were comfortable and the Japanese room we stayed in even had an in-room "mini onsen" The location suited our needs; near lots of eating places and at the end of the shopping/sightseeing/tourist street, and just across from... We stayed in the top floor suite with onsen in the room. View is spectacular! Very spacious in the room as we had a twin bedrm space, a TV living room and another traditional Jap living rm. Soaking in onsen and overseeing the Otaru coast line and canal is a really a wonderful experience. Dinner is good but it did... More

Although I only stay in Otaru for 1 night, I do feel this is a wonderful ryokan. Right after got off at Otaru JR station, abt 15 walk easily to Furukawa, of course with many luggages you could use taxi, 5 mins and JPY 500. And don't be surprised when you step into their amazing lobby :) Room is cozy,... More

I was traveling with friends to Hokkaido and found this nice hotel which is locate next to the canal. I really love the location. I have a walk after dinner and before breakfast. The location is also close to the main shopping and tourists spot. It is approximately 5-10 mins walk from JR station. Our package included breakfast and dinner.... More
