Stayed at Hakodate Mura for two nights as a solo traveller. In all respects this BnB was great, but particularly because Sumiko and her husband really went above and beyond as kind and generous hosts. I arrived at roughly 10pm via the JR train. Upon booking, Sumiko had offered to pick me up at the station however I couldn't gain... More

This pension is a delightful place to stay. It is impeccably clean. There is polished wood everywhere and nary a spec of dust to be seen. The Western-style breakfast is generous and delicious. The charming and friendly english-speaking hostess goes way out of her way to make the traveler feel welcome. it is only a short walk to the tourist... More

I spent 3 nights here this November. Yes the weather changed from driving rain to snow but each day began with a delicious breakfast - Perhaps eggs and bacon or maybe an omelet and ham all artistically arranged and delivered with a big smile which tempered my mood! The location was superb being a 1/2 block from the port and... More

We stayed with Sumiko-san for 3D2Ns and all I can say is we hope our stay would have been longer. Hakodate is such a beautiful port town with so many if the yesteryears charms still can be seen, heard and experienced. The old Hakodate factory area is a must to visit especially with all the Christmas activities all day long... More

The pension is small and charming. It reminded me of some long term hostels I had stayed in years ago. The owners were very nice and they kept the place very tidy and clean. The location of the pension is the best thing about the place. It is close to red brick shopping area(has a good ramen shop), Motomachi, and... More

We had two nights staying here and would have stayed longer if we could have. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly with good English. It's next to the old port area and very close to the colonial area so a great location. The breakfast was very good! Would definitely recommend it.

There are a number of reasons for choosing this guesthouse in Hakodate, first the owners are charming & very helpful. It's also very well located. We stayed with our kids aged 6 & 4 and they were really welcomed. We decided to stay on to see the port fireworks display (which is spectacular), and had to change rooms, so saw... More

The pension is located close to the old port area which is now fashionably touristy. From the JR station, take the street car direction Dock-wae for three stops. Pull a ticket when you get in, give it together with 200Y per person to the driver when you exit. The pension is about 200 yards, or meters, from the tram stop.... More

We only stayed there for one night but wished we had stayed longer. It is located in the colonial district which is probably the best location to be in Hakodate as all the main sites and the Ropeway for Mt Hakodate are all nearby. They were absolutely great and took our luggage in even though we were there before the... More

My husband and I were travelling by bicycle through Hokkaido and arrived in Hakodate as sun was setting one evening. We had no accommodations lined up and just happened to come across this place. So very glad we did! They were extremely friendly and welcoming, allowing us to lock our bicycles indoors, giving us as much tourist information as we... More
