Stayed here for 2 nights in October. We were upgraded to a lakeside room and although this was on the corner of the hotel, the view over the lake was stunning. The room itself was huge and had a private onsen, a comfortable separate bedroom and a massage chair. The rest of the hotel was equally grand, decorated in traditional... More

I booked the cheapest room at the hotel with town view because it is the only available room when I made the booking. Room rate is cheaper on their official website, they offer early bird discount, or 5% discount. Check in time 2 p.m., I arrived at 1 and they were able to let me check in the room earlier.... More

Well, to be fair, I had huge expectation on this hotel given the price plus the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. And at the end, allow me to tell you one single huge factor that might make me want to perhaps try another hotel the next time. OK, with the 64000 yen per room night price tag, I was a little... It is the best hot spring hotel I ever visited. The whole building is decorated with ancient japanese style but with modern facilities. Room is very spacious and comfortable. The room has its own hot spring pool and is semi open but not be seen from outside. My room is facing the sea and is western japanese style. We travelled... More

This ryokan is by a long shot the best ryokan experience we have had in Japan. The setting is fantastic on the shores of Lake Akan in the Akan National Park in Hokkaido. Despite being flanked by big expensive tourist factories, it manages to preserve its enchanting Ainu character and tranquility. To enter is to enter a world of peace... More

This hotel offer fantastic traditional Japanese ryokan hospitality and design. With inside room designed like ryokan fully furnished with tatami mat and futon and delicious and sumptuous kaiseki meals, the experience gave guests an authentic Japanese feel and ambience. With indoor onsen facing lake Akan, the feeling is almost surreal. The hotel room is spacious and well designed in truly... More

My husband and I love Japanese cuisine and I came across Hinanoza as I was researching a trip to Hokkaido. It was a hike to get to from Kushiro airport but well worth the stay. We spent 2 nights in July and I would go back in a heart beat. We flew in from Osaka airport to Kushiro and took... More

At approximately £500 per night for a very large suite, complete with private onsen and kaiseki dinner and breakfast, one expects perfection. And one gets it, so long as one's definition of perfection is ever so slightly flexible. Lets face it, the design, decor, food, ambiance, attention to detail and wait staff member personally assigned to you, are all perfect.... More

We chose room 407 because of the Movie"You are the one "was shooting in this room. We also stayed in Room 601 which has better view. It has Open Hot spring Spa in each room. The food there is perfect, we had extra beef for free. lucky! Thoughtful service. a nice experience. But Akan is a very small place, you... More

I and my wife stay in this hotel for 2 nights on 27 & 28 Dec. The pros and cons of this hotel are as follow: Pros: 1) excellent services, especially the reception and restaurant staff 2) the room is spacious with it's own private onsen and balcony. However, the private onsen is quite small for 2 persons 3) great... More
