Not a great plus to stay. Our non smoking room stank of cigarette smoke it was stuck to the walls, the ceiling, the curtains. .The place stank of smoke. The beds were rock hard and the pillows even harder. The air con barely worked. There must be better places to stay in matsue. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it... More

The room was small but the air conditioning functioned and kept the room warm. Not cool but at least the room didn't get hot. Clothes storage space was very limited so again clothes stayed in suitcase. Other room facilities were good: tv, wi-fi etc. Breakfast was good. OK for a one night stay.

For my trip to Izumo shrine, I booked a single room, but lucky for me, they let me stay in a larger twin room on the 8th floor with no extra charge. As someone already mentioned, the elevator smelled like cigarette and room had weird odor when I entered the room. However there was a nice portable air-cleaner in the... More

Never again. We booked a double room here and as we walked into the elevator we smelled strong stale tobacco and was immediately put off but never mind - we thought the room wouldnt be like that. Wrong! The room smelled like a full ashtray - so much so that i had a headache within minutes even though i opened... More

This Tokyu Inn is located conveniently downtown, opposite the railway station. Its ground floor lobby is large and quiet, the buffet breakfast is served on the first floor (2nd floor for the Americans and Japanese: funny, Japanese drive on the left, like the British, but count their floors like Americans- Ground is First, First is Second, and so on). The... More

Convenient to train station and the Kunibiki Convention Centre, the higher floor rooms are smoking rooms. Rooms are tiny - as is to be expected from Japanese Inns, so be prepared. The reception area is spacious, however, and complementary WiFi is reliable and fast. It is a tad expensive for what it provides and probably justifies it only because other... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night as part of a tour of Japan. Room very small. Small restaurant so get there early if you need breakfast before you go out. Plenty of hot water and toiletries. Not much more that I can say.

This hotel is literally right across from the JR Matsue station. Check-in was extremely easy even when I used English. A nice worker showed me to my room while giving me pamphlets of attractions around the area and suggestions about good places to have dinner at. I also easily walked to Shimane Art Museum from the hotel and it only... More

Tokyu Inn is about 5 minutes walk from the JR Matsue Station. It can be seen from the station. Our room, 410, was clean and tidy. Though the room area is small, there is still enough room for two people to move around in. Had twin beds each 3/4 double. Both were firm and comfortable. Room had a mini fridge.... More

This hotel has very small but clean rooms. Very much a "business" style hotel. Our room overlooked the train station. Although the train is across the street, it is a bit of a hike to use the underground passageway to get to the station (impossible to cross any other way). When in Matsue, I would suggest staying someplace else (we... More
