We chose the Okayama Hotel mainly due to its conveniencas there is a covered walkway from the station. The room and bathroom were quite large for Japanese standards, however I felt for the price we paid it was a bit dated (don't let the lobby fool you). Also as a westerner if I knew beforehand I wouldn't bother pre-paying for... More

This was our second hotel in Okayama and the only reason I didn't book it first was the price - its quite pricy compared to others. The location is fantastic though - right outside the train station and it has its own covered walkway to move between the train station and the hotel which was perfect while the typhoon visited.... Very courteous checkin and bell service to the room with a constantly attentive staff. Breakfast was rather mediocre for the price with a far better selection in the city, but again the service was attentive and very courteous. Standard rooms are really small, so we'd recommend a Concept or Executive level room. The best thing about the JR hotels is... More

Very grand building right next to the train station, excellent views from the window. No noise from the railway. We were on a relatively high floor (19, ish, i think). 10 minute walk to Okayama castle ... GOOD CASTLE! Rooms very clean, staff very friendly and all with good levels of English. Stayed 1 night before travelling on further. Would... More

We were three, with one of us needing a wheelchair. Our booking agent made several mistakes for our trip (unable to properly communicate that we needed a wheelchair accessible room) **but the hotel WAS able to promptly fix the issue!** The original room had a standard tub in it, which means having to lift your leg to get in, and... For $130 per night this is not too bad. A great location ext to the train station with plenty of shops and laces to eat surrounding the hotel. Reception staff are very quick and efficient, English is also good. The room is exactly what you expect in a japanese hotel. Small for a westerner's point of view but quite sufficient.... More

My wife and I booked a double room and we thought that there had been a mistake when we were shown to our room, the room was really tiny with the smallest double bed we have ever seen, it was pushed against the wall as it would not have fitted in the room otherwise. When I complained I was told... More

I liked this hotel, very comfortable beds and quality pillows and duvets. very central and friendly. bath fills quickly with plenty of hot hot water. free wifi but tv lacks English channels, for what it's worth. breakfast truly continental and passable. free English written newspaper in the morning. has a indoor pool which you pay for. good quality hotel, no... It's hard to imagine a better option for a traveler, especially a non-Japanese traveler, visiting Okayama or using the city as a base for seeing nearby stuff. Being attached to a main train station can have its downsides, but not here: You're central in this city and less than an hour from Kyoto or Hiroshima, so this can be your... More

Visited with 2 preschoolers and 2 adults. Room was quite large, 1 king size bed, super comfortable and a table with a few chairs, 1 sofa style seater. Big window we could sit on and watch the buses pull in. We stayed on the 18th floor. The wife attended a 3 day conference and I took the kids to Kyoto,... More
