Toyama is no great place in itself, but it is a good place to start the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine route, which I recommend taking – train, bus and cable car across the Alps. The Hotel is just a few steps from the Toyama train station. It's conveniently located with a shopping mall next to it and plenty eateries just outside the hotel.
