Stayed here 12 months ago. We enjoyed the leafy uphill drive to the hotel. We chose the cheapest queen bed room with a view of the carpark, opting to save money and see the view from outside the room. The next morning we got up and went outside to enjoy a fantastic view of the bay area below and Mt.Fuji... More

日本平飯店 is probably the best hotel that I ever stayed in Japan. The excellent view at the lobby/rooms and the newly rennovated rooms are the 2 selling points of the hotel. The seaview rooms are also much better than the hill view ones; and you may be able to see Mount Fuji if the weather is good. The price is... More

The view is extremely beautiful. Even better without clouds to hide mt. Fuji. Nice park area around. We have been here for the lunch buffet. Here comes the drawback. It was presented very decoratively. The ingredients were fresh and the location offered a nice view into the kitchen. However the flavor was rather disappointing in my opinion. Mostly because there... More

The only drawback is its a little out of the town centre but only a very short, maybe ten minute drive. This place blew me away at every turn. Service, imaculatly clean, design. That view! Function rooms. Accomodation rooms and facilities. The food. The service, did I mention the view. Even at night when Fuji-San fades and the town lights... More

As you step into the grand entrance of Nippondaira Hotel, the wonderful view staring back at you is like a painting coming to life. The hotel is cleverly constructs a wide panel glass facing Mount Fuji to allow guests to enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Shimizu Port and part of the city. While its location is not... More

Great hotel, great staff. Outstanding view on Fujiyama and the Shizuoka bay. The only problem is that it is far (35 min) away from town and is very isolated. Other than that it's luxurious, very good breakfast, super clean, and excellent service. Free wifi (which works ok, not super speed)

Apart from the fact that the view from the hotel might be spectacular (it wasn't when we stayed there since the clouds prevented any view), the hotel itself is very nice: comfortable rooms, great restaurants and excellent service. The rooms on the Fuji side of the hotel are a lot more expensive and hard to identify on the website we... More

My young daughter and I first stayed at this hotel (in its old guise) in 2008 and were thoroughly impressed with the view over the gardens, Shimizu, and of Mt Fuji. The hotel was a little dated and I remarked to my Japanese friend, at the time, that it wasn't the best hotel I'd ever stayed at, but it certainly... More

Nippondaira is a large, new hotel on a mountain overlooking Shizuoka with great views of Mount Fuji. The views are framed by an expansive meadow, bordered by dense tree stands that abut a steeply sloping tea plantation. Stone sculptures mark the direction to the Great Mountain. We gave the building absolutely top marks for architecture and interior design. Modern, clear... More
