The building and facilities are typical Japanese Hot Spring Hotel. The English-speaking service was a new experiences for this type of hotel. Spacious Japanese style suite. Japanese dinner served at dining room, each course was beautifully presented and poetically described. Japanese breakfast by the large window viewing morning garden. First things first: Hoshino Resort Kai Ito is fairly dated. Yes, it looks like it was built and last decorated in 1985. But, the place is impeccably kept and very, very clean. Visited April 2012. You have to be careful with the Hoshino Resorts as there are two kinds - one is their own property and another is when they buy/manage the struggling or bankrupted hotels.
