We stayed in Yokikan 3 nights and very much enjoyed it. The host, Aki, could not have been more helpful. The ryokan has baths inside as well as a mixed 'rotenburo' (outside bath) with views over the town and the ocean, which made us a bit uncomfortable at first, but at most times we had the place to ourselves. Although... More

Yokikan Royokan is a bit of a walk, 15 min. From the train station. I chose this Ryokan for a true Japanese experience and on the map it looked close to Tokyo. Well, it's not close, 1.5-2.5 hrs. depending on the train. It was a wonderful experience. The outside onsen was so relaxing. The service was tremendous! We had our... More

We had a great stay at Yokikan! The service was excellent, and the owners were looking to help us with practically everything they could. This was our first trip to Japan and we don't speak any Japanese, but the owners of the ryokan made us feel comfortable both in the hotel and in the town itself. We got great recommendations... More

We stayed back in July and found the service excellent, with lovely spacious rooms in a charming early 20th century onsen. In fact our room was more of a suite with hot spring water available in the bathroom as well as the 2 full onsens. To our surprise when we arrived at the hotel the taxi was kindly paid for... More

This place provides superb value-for-money. We only stayed a night and felt we should have a longer stay there. If you are open to trying Japanese home-made meals, try the in-house meals - they are so good, and cheap too. Better than most nearby restaurants..The hospitality is great. The environment is nice. Try the Japanese-style rooms!

We stayed in Yokikan for 1 night. The service is really good, the staff are friendly and nice, especially the manager who speak English very well. It is a hotel which give you a Traditional Japanese Feel in every details, you will definetly feel comfortable with the room and onsen.

We stayed back in May and found the service excellent, with lovely spacious rooms in a charming early 20th century onsen. In fact our room was more of a suite with hot spring water available in the bathroom as well as the 2 full onsens. We would certainly recomend a stay and would be happy to return.

We stayed in 4 such Ryokans during our month-long stay in Japan. This one is the real deal! It is by far the most authentic, with the hot springs coming off the hill right into the onsen baths. You will find it is definitely an older hotel, dating back 5 generations of family ownership, again, which is part of the... More

We only stayed for little more than a week in Japan, but Yokikan ryokan was really worth the short (train) detour. Perfect relaxation spot between Tokyo and Kyoto: very friendly, perfect service (english spoken!), beautiful rooms (we had a seaview terrace). And of course relaxing in the open air hot spring, watching the stars.... In the room: amazing to experience... More

This was a very nice Ryokan experience. It could be characterized by saying this is the yin to the yen that I've written about in another review of a Ryokan in Ito. The desk staff are very happy to speak English and the welcome was excellent. We even had our taxi fare from the station refuneded, but I don't remember... More
