Under amenities Trip Advisor lists swimming pool and free parking. There is definitely NO swimming pool at the Niigata Hotel Okura which was a disappointment after a long drive to get there. Also there is NO FREE parking. We had to pay about 1300 yen to park for 1 day. The WiFi was free, but we kept losing the signal... More

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel and I have to say it was an exceptionally surprising and pleasant experiance from the moment we stepped from the car to the day we left. We were visiting our daughter who lives and works in the prefecture and used the hotel as a base for exploring the region. Niigata is an... More

A hotel staff here greeted me with a 45-degree bow, what a great custom. Bring earplugs because I could here the chirping of the crosswalk from the 9th floor and everything here is in Japanese, even the TV remote.

We were most satisfied with our stay in this hotel but only after a problem was solved upon our arrival. We had a reservation for a non-smoking room but initially we were offered a smoking room [we believe that continuing to offer smoking rooms in a hotel proves outdated hotel management]. Because the hotel was heavily booked, a non-smoking room... More

My husband and I stayed here 4 nights, and it made our trip to Niigata perfect. Location is at one end of the famous Bandaibashi (bridge) and it's easy walking distance to both centers of Niigata. Also lovely walks along the riverside. Hotel seems like a smaller version of the Tokyo Okura and I suspect dates from the same period.... More

I spent three nights at this hotel. Although it doesn't show how to get there by bus in its website, it is easy to find out which bus line to take. The breakfast it provides is delicious. Most of the staff can speak English well. In addition, the room is quite large. By the way, the locations is great. It... More
