We only stayed for one night, and this hotel was fine for our short stay. Room was clean, with a nice view of the river and surrounding town. If you like your air conditioning ice cold, then you will be disappointed, but we were starting to get accustomed to the humidity in Japan, so the room temperature was adequate. Either... More

A decent hotel standing in the quiet little city of Niigata. Room size is quite small with a medium size bath-tub. Walking distance to Aeon supermarket and several convenience shops. There's a 24hours Mcdonald in front of the hotel. Niigata train station is approximately 1.5km away.

Dear nellson1, Thank you for taking your time to review our property. I am pleased to know that you found our hotel decent. However, I regret that the room and bath tub size did not meet your expectations. We went to Niigata for the first time in late April and researched online for hotels. We decided to try the Ana Crowne hotel and it was spacious, very clean and close to the University of Niigata. The staff did not speak English, but made every effort to make us feel welcome. There is also a branch of McDonald's that... More

Another very typical Crown Plaza property with some pretensions to better things; rather better restaurants than usual for this chain. Rooms are fine if tired but I struggled to get the temperature right. Bathrooms OK. Good breakfast buffet. Internet is Ethernet. Don't eat in the hotel, there are many good restaurants nearby and quite some nightlife.

Overall the hotel is very average. The lobby is the nicest feature and the rooms are clean but about average. There is an overall lack of true understanding of the English language despite the close proximity to the international airport. Wireless Internet in the hotel is horrible and this is the main reason I will not return to the hotel.... More

Just finishing two nights at the ANA Crown Plaza Niigata. My room, 803, is a very comfortable twin (great pillows, or is it the sheets? something is very silky) and the room is larger than most I usually end up with in Japan. Couldn't find wifi in my room but there is a LAN cable to connect the old way... More

Interior decor: Nice lobby - that's what I expect from ANA Crowne Plaza hotel chains in Japan. That's on par. Guest room - I had deluxe twin. At an initial glance, it looked as good as other ANA Crowne Plaza hotel chains, but the beauty was only skin deep. Small windows. Outdated furnitures. Tired looking wallpapers. Exterior appearance: Flagship premier... More

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niigata reminds me more of a Holiday Inn once you get past the pretty lobby. Our "superior twin" was small and lacked almost any adornment. Same for the small bathroom. The worst feature was clearly the air conditioning, which isn't air conditioning. The only control in the room is a knob to control the fan.... More

I agree with most that AName already wrote. The breakfast buffet doesn't cater much in continental breakfast though. There's a selection of croissants and two bread rolls and two types of jams. Some fruit and cereals or cornflakes. If fried eggs with bacon and sausage is your choice of breakfast you're better served. The rest of the food is all... More

I stayed here for 6 nights in May 2010 as part of a business trip with a large group. Overall my experience was positive and I would happily recommend this.
