Shut down, let's you make reservations, hotel is no longer existent. After about three hours of complaining, and reading the horrible reviews of this hotel, we finally pulled in, expecting bad. We stayed here a few years ago and were expecting only slightly worse. But, we got the absolute worst. We arrived to a very deserted hotel with overgrowth and... More

Are you kidding me , I loved this hotel, it's convenient and it's cheap. Granted, there's little to do in downtown Amsterdam, but that's not the hotel's fault. Business and Civic leaders get with the program. There is, or at least the last I knew, a great billiard parlor that is known about even back in Syracuse. Slap some clubs... More

This MOTEL was dropped from the franchise because of its inferior environment, and thats saying something seeing how AMV is disgusting to begin with. The top 2 floors are inhabitable and condemned. The owners employ their non-English speaking parents as the cleaning staff. Ive never heard a vacuum. The 'white' towels are yellowish. The stench of years of indoor cigarette... More

I stayed at this Hotel in Amsterdam in November and while it was definitely built probably in the 1970's, it appeared to be in very good shape. The lobby was beautiful and furniture immaculate. The Hotel Manager was a very nice guy and he welcomed us personally. I did see that they had the first floor rooms closed for renovation... More

This hotel, right off the New York Thruway in Amsterdam, New York, was an incredible value at $59. The room was clean and quiet. The beds were reasonably comfortable. My only concern is that the hallway was very smoky. However, there was no smell of smoke in our room. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were driving for hours through the night from Boston home to Toronto. We just needed a few hours sleep. When we entered the hallways to go to our room the stale smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. Walking along the hallway many rooms had towels placed down at the bottom of their doors, obviously to keep the smell of whatever... More

A recent overnight stay at this hotel will forever be known as the time we should have kept driving or slept in the van. This place was so outdated and run down that I felt like we were back in the crummy parts of the 70's. The worst thing by far was the smell. I mean this place smelled!! It... More

We booked this hotel expecting very little due to the reviews. The room itself was much cleaner than we expected. Very outdated, though. The shower sprayed all over. The ice machine did not work. After a rain, there was a lake in the parking lot. The main areas of the hotel were very dirty. There were also bad smells, except... More

I've stayed here quite a few times on my way out and back to a car gathering in OH every June but I think this year will be the last time. The last time I was on the 4th or 5th floor and it stunk of cigarette smoke, was hot and very dingy. Every other time I or we, were... More

If you are hiking or biking the Erie Canal towpath, this is a great place to stay, and you won't have to climb the big hill. The motel is far from new, but recently redecorated rooms are clean and comfortable, and roomy enough to take your bicycles. Reasonably priced - we paid under $70 for our double. The staff is...
