Wonderful staff, always friendly and available. Meals were fresh and delicious. So many activities from biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and more. The slopes are a five minute walk from the lodge which has a homey feeling, and really comfy and clean tatami rooms. Great escape from Tokyo!

As I walked into the lounge area of the new NORTHSTAR's Alpine Lodge, I felt like I had just come home. The fire in the fire place blazing, the sun's light shining in through the windows, and most of all, knowing the staff here really cares about people made me feel like I was at home. Plus the food is... More

We enjoyed a fabulous weekend at Northstar last week. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the meals really delicious - real home from home cooking. We had booked a mountain bike tour which was well organised and great fun. We most definately be booking again.

Our family stayed at Northstar. We have 2 small children and they loved it! The Norikura village was a great place for our children to hike both with concrete and dirt trails through the woods. Onsens, restaurants, and other activities were within easy walking distance. The Northstar staff were terrific and the meals were great! The lodge has lots of... More

Northstar is fabulous! I have stayed there several times now and have enjoyed the great staff, who are so helpful...the wonderful food and above all the "ambience," the peaceful yet adventurous atmosphere there. So close to everything...the stores, the baths, the slopes and mountain bike trails. Great accommodations! Great staff!

This is my first time going outdoor with snow. The guidance has well explain of geographical information around Norikura Mountain. Surprisingly during the hike have chance seeing Raicho,a rare species in Japanese wildlife. Staying in Japanese style room is comfortable and the room is comfy since I can hear the stream flow on morning. It was enjoyable looking the streamside... More

We brought 50 English-speaking middle school and high school students to NorthStar in March for a two-day camp of downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow boarding, and snowshoeing. Our overall experience was great. The communication and planning leading up to the camp was thorough. The assistance and instruction during the camp was personal and enthusiastic and "homey". All skil levels... More

We decided to get our last ski trip in for the season and decided to stay at Northstar. My wife, 18 month old son, myself, and another couple and their 2 year old daughter stayed for the weekend. We stayed in a family style traditional Japanese room. The room was very comfortable in size as well as expected accommodations. The... More
