This ryokan has both western and traditional rooms. We stayed in a very nice traditional Japanese room with tatami mats. Unlike many other ryokans the meals are taken in the restaurant rather than your room. The restaurant is however very authentic and the kaiseki style meal was superb and well worth the visit. This ryokan is located about 20min cab ride from JR Matsumoto station. I was surprised to see the inside of this ryokan. There are two parts of building that are connected. Newer part is traditional tatami mats with attached bathroom and very spacious. Older building is very special. They moved an old traditional Japanese house from Hida Takayama area. They... More
