Yes, we totally agree with others, this place has wonderful, smiling, friendly hosts, who do greet you at the station and drop off again, but thats where my agreement stops.. I cannot agree with or understand the other reviews giving such high score. We stayed in the family room in the annex, so cannot attest to the main building...BUT...I would... More

Thank you for taking your time to review. While we always try do our best to ensure all our guests have a safe, enjoyable stay at our inn sometimes some things may be overlooked and things don't get done that should have. When this happens we always try to make things right with our guests so they leave us feeling... More

this ryokan is run by a family and their level of service and dedication towards you having a good stay is exceptional. The room was spacious and comfortable, and their breakfast is really good. I had a nice time meeting everyone there and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Thank you for your kind review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Ryokan Seifu-so and our poplar Japanese breakfast and yoghurt with grandad's homemade honey. We had a good time meeting you too and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards, Atsuko Tanaka More

A small accommodation but we got an owner's warm service. The breakfast is basically Japanese style with many varieties. We were fully satisfied with it. But a difficult point is a long distance from Matsumoto station. It is about 3.2km hard to walk. But we can get a bus.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our family run ryokan and our breakfast! We understand that the location is our downside however as you mentioned, the closest bus stop to town is 1 minute walk from Ryokan. We hope we get a chance to welcome you again in the future.... The family who own and run Ryokan Seifuso are exceptionally charming and helpful. When we asked for a taxi to the station, they got their car and drove us, something we did not expect. On the other hand, we were not really comfortable in our room. It was in the Annexe. Possibly those in the main building are better. We... More

Our family of five (2 adults and three kids of 14, 11 and 6 years) stayed at this lovely ryokan in Matsumoto, which is very recommendable indeed. The host, a Japanese couple were extremely helpful and friendly and had some rather good English skills. The host even drove us to see the Matsumoto Castle, which was a really nice gesture,... More

You receive a great welcome here, from easy pick up at the station, to the helpful owners & traditional japanese style rooms. Location is just out of town, but bike hire makes it easy to get around & explore. Clean & comfortable rooms with all the facilities that are needed.

We had a very comfortable 3 night stay in one of the rooms in the annexe. This is not a fancy ryokan; however, it is run by a very friendly and helpful Japanese couple. What I particularly liked about the ryokan was the shared kitchen facilities which meant we could cook during our long trip in Japan, the free pick... More

My boyfriend and I stayed with this lonely family in their Ryokan in October. Hospitality: We called for a pick up when we arrived at the train station and they were very prompt, and gave us a little tour on the way to the Ryokan. We were made to feel welcome instantly and had a tour of the facilities. The... More

I called upon arrival at the station and was picked up promptly. We dropped our bags off and were given bikes to ride back into town. It is down hill all the way. We had 2 futons in the room and I had the room with the toilet in the room. The shower was located downstairs. There was a kitchen... More
