What a great little traditional japanese guesthouse. Very clean rooms, good location. Free bikes to use. Good freshly made breakfast. Even a mini 'onsen' as the bathroom. Our hosts were fantastic, with convenient shuttle from the station even though we arrived quite late. Special mention to Atsuko who helped us find appropriate medical advice for a medical issue we had... More

Nice little Ryokan/guesthouse in a residential area outside Matsumoto. Gracious pick-up at station & return. Breakfast was simple & fine. Good budget option, friendly helpful people, clean, quiet. Excellent clear directions provided. Bicycles available. Coffee machine freely accessible. Computer to use. I would stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our hosts were amazing, very helpful with ideas for local visits. You even get a Welcome message out the front when you checkin. Bedding, Japanese style, but additional thickness made extremely comfortable. Amenities great, Onsen style showers, not private, but we were very comfortable with sharing, bath was relaxing as well. We have both had... More

The staff are very welcoming starting from the complimentary pick up from the train station to sending us off upon check out. Breakfast is one of the better ryokan breakfasts we have had during our visit in Japan. There is a highly recommended ramen shop which we visited nearby and make sure to ask for directions. The futons are clean... More

Having stayed at a few hotels in Japan, we decided to try the Ryokan experience on our visit to Matsumoto...and based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, Seifuso came to be our choice..... Unfortunately we do not share the findings of previous guests...maybe because we were given a room ( small) in the annexe, which compared to the main house... More

Our family of four (parents and two sons, 15 and 11) spent two nights in the Japanese style quadruple room. We really enjoyed our stay - the room was comfortable, the recommendations of the hosts were excellent (their hand-drawn maps of the immediate area and of Matsumoto were very helpful), the onsen style bath (one for men and one for... We stayed at this Ryokan with a family of four and had the large room in the annex with a toilet. We were very lucky, as we had the whole annex to ourselves and had a very good sleep and a wonderful Japanese breakfast. The Annex and main house are clean and quiet. Matsumoto is a lovely city with a... More

We stayed for 3 nights with a family with 3 teenagers. We felt very welcome, and were taken care off in an exceptional way. We liked the traditional elements in the ryokan, including the onsen. The recommendations for restaurants were very to the point for what we were looking for. we used the free bikes and that was very convenient,... More

Excellent Japanese style breakfast. The tea ceremony is worth doing, especially if you haven't learned before. Everyone has been very friendly and provided a good idea of things to do in the city and directions. They also provide bikes which you may use for free which is quite useful.
