This clean, extremely reasonable and convenient hotel is a great choice if you are stopping over in Matsumoto. The hotel is a short walk from the station near a small park. The rooms are standard at all the hotels in this chain. Our double bed room was exactly the same as the one we stayed at last year in Yonago.... More

Service was highly efficient and polite, room was clean and functional. View of wall was less than interesting! The bed was extremely firm, which is probably fine if you are used to it! Washing machines and dryer were in the lobby (off to one side) and good value. Missed breakfast so not sure what that was like, into said miso... More

This is a standard business hotel. I am on a 3 week trip to Japan so I wanted to stay in some in some value hotels. As far as value hotels go, this is a good one. This hotel was a great value. 8900 yen for 2 adults. We have a two year old and five year old staying with... More

We have stayed at Toyoko Inn Matsumoto Ekimae Honmachi several times . It is one of our favourite Toyoko inns. It is located minutes from the station, with easy direction . You will not miss the big TOYOKO INNS sign above the building opposite the station , just enter the laneway, walk straight, you should be there in no time.... More

Stayed here several times some years ago and recently stayed again only because my first choice had no vacancies for the first two nights of my ten night visit. This hotel is okay, good enough for one or two nights but would not want to stay longer if I didn't have to. Room was tiny, bathroom was tiny, overall difficult... More

Booked two semi double rooms for two adults and two middle school aged children with each child sharing with one adult - got two rooms side by side. Small room but had everything needed for overnight stay. Was warm in the cold winter and very clean and quiet. Staff were very efficient, nice and good english. Japanese breakfast included Good... We spent one night here in September 2012. Clean compact room, with comfy bed and all you need for an over night stay. Breakfast was more Japanese based but some western options and good coffee - Enough to set me and my wife (fish eating vegetarian) up til lunchtime. As always, cheap coin laundry, internet access and copy of Japanese... More

We chose to stay in Toyoko Inns all around the country from Tokyo down to Nagasaki over four weeks, including in some more-ordinary towns off the tourist trail, such as Numazu, visiting family. Every single one was excellent. You can book online, and such is the Japanese way - you don't need to pay until you get there. Then you... More

When traveling on business, my budget allows only a certain amount before being flagged for review for Finance. I avoid that like the plague. When the dollar-yen exchange was more favorable, I could stay within my budget at some of the American hotel chains. However, since the Financial Crisis and the drastic change in the exchange rates, this is no... More

This budget hotel had been booked by our tour company so we weren't sure what to expect. We travelled around Japan for just over two weeks and stayed in Toyoko Inns in Matsumoto, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Yokohama (but they're everywhere) and found them convenient, clean, friendly places to stay. The hotel is located centrally within the city and a short... More
