We are so surprised of the wellcoming and all the information and support gave us planning our stay in Kanazawa. They gave us tea and ginger biscuits, explained all details about their ryokan and also helped us to prepare our trip calling by phone. He had also booked before our arriving two tickets to visit an especial event for the... More

Bungo and his mother, Who rum this small, simple and unpretentious Ryokan, have been extremely welcoming and helpful. They couldn't have done better. The Ryokan is conveniently located and very clean. Bicycles are available for the guests. At 6:30 a.m. Both of them were by the door to say good bye to me! Thank you Bungo

Staying at Ryokan Yamuro was one of the best decisions for my recent trip to Kanazawa. I concur with the other reviewers that it is located very close to the various attractions in the city. Bungo and his mother were extremely helpful in every little requests we have, and were the epitome of Japanese hospitality. It was lightly drizzling and... More

You would find nothing special in this hotel. The hotel is bit old and is minimally decorated. Bath room is old and small as well. What I found useful was that the hotel is situated near Higashi Chaya.

I highly recommend staying at Ryokan Yamamuro. I only stayed two nights but would have loved to stay longer. The rooms, the facilities, the location, the Japanese breakfast were all wonderful, and above all the hospitality was incredible. Our room – a private with a bathroom – was very spacious, and included a wardrobe, table and a safe. The deep... More

I've been meaning to review this place for a while now but never got around to it. The location of this ryokan is perfect, extremely close to some of the major attractions in Kanazawa and not too far of a walk from the central district either. The service was perfect, both the owner (Bungo) and his mother are extremely welcoming... More

We stayed only 2 nights at Yamamuro, but it was our best choice during one month in Japan. It is well located (walking distance to all sites in Kanazawa, ~20 minutes walking to the train station). It is traditional, clean, comfortable, cosy. The bathroom is shared, as in most Ryokans. There is also a traditional Japanese bath that you can book... More

This was our first ryokan ever and we chose it as it belongs to a group of inns that welcome foreigners. The inn is run by a mother and son and it has been a ryokan since 1897! We were the only guests so had been given the largest room with its own bathroom. We ate a Japanese breakfast both... More

We seemed to get upgraded and got a room with more space and a bathroom attached. Good value and a nice room. Best stay on this trip to Japan. The owner was very helpful and kind and we had quite a few little talks in my broken Japanese. Well located accomodation.
