Ryokan Yamamuro is a no frills Japanese inn. It is owned and managed by Mr. Bungo Yamamuro and his mother. The ryokan has been in their family for more than 100 years! It's easy to miss the inn's simple facade. The interiors are very basic with functional rooms and minimal decor. In terms of hotel grades, this is probably a... More

We had a large room with futons and wash basin, we shared toilet & bathroom with other guests which was very clean, it was in a great position enabling us to walk to all the sites. Bungo & his Mother are extremely kind and helpful making this a lovely homely place to stay. The interior is a little dated but... More

3 of us had a lovely stay here on our family road trip through Honshu. Buncho is a friendly and very kind host, offering many tips about what to see and do in Kanazawa (there's plenty!) He's a lovely guy who can't do enough to help. We stayed in the Matsu room, with a shared bathroom and toilet (down one... More

We had a great stay at Ryokan Yamamuro. Bungo and his mother were very warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Botan room which was very spacious and comfortable. The traditional breakfast was excellent and well worth trying. It's in a great location too and we were able to walk everywhere. We would definitely stay here again in future.

Our room was relatively spacious and with an extra futon each, we were a little more comfortable. Our room included a hand basin, the toilet was shared with two other rooms and the shower was down stairs. The hosts made us feel very welcome. The traditional breakfasts were great. The location was good - we could walk to all of... More

My family and I stayed at the Ryokan Yamamuro for 3 nights in early October 2015. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. After seeing all the major chain hotels around Kanazawa Station, it was refreshing to find ourselves in a quiet and conveniently located authentic Japanese ryokan. And I cannot speak highly enough about Bungo and his mother who were... More

We're a family of five (three older children) and we stayed here for two nights in late August. We had the large room overlooking the garden with it's own sitting room. I have to say that from the moment we arrived we felt immediately at home. Bungo and his Mother are excellent hosts - warm, friendly, helpful and can't do... More

The Ryokan is like the town of Kanazawa, truly fantastic place to relax and find yourself. The hosts, Bungo and his mom made us feel truly welcome, hard working, courteous, truly respectable couple, that made us feel like we was at home. We booked a "Botan room" which was on a ground floor with private bathroom. Very spacious with a... More

Bungo and his mother are really kind and helpful. The place is charming, great atmosphere, confortable and the location perfect !! Bungo recommended us a lot of restaurants and both we've visited were excellent. He also showed us on the map the places we should visit at first, after dark or early in the morning. And his mother cooks the... More

We are so surprised of the wellcoming and all the information and support gave us planning our stay in Kanazawa. They gave us tea and ginger biscuits, explained all details about their ryokan and also helped us to prepare our trip calling by phone. He had also booked before our arriving two tickets to visit an especial event for the... More
