we joined a local tour and leaved there. It is the kind of old style Japanese hotel. Big room with not in scale bath room. May be most Japanese goes to the 'big' bath room' so the bath in the room is renovated from a toilet to meet other visitors' need. Japanese buffet breakfast so there is not much choice... More

The staff at this hotel where great, very helpful and kind. The buffet was interesting but didn't have huge variety (that's fine tho) The rooms where massive by comparison to anything else in Japan! And the view was to die for (we saw the entire city!) Only thing is you need a taxi into town but that only cost us... More

Viewing the hotel rating for tasty dinner buffet but quiet disappointed. The lobby was a bit old not bright to feel at all. Room is normal Japan standard, fine. The view is excellent when I wake up in the morning so I take a pic to share with all travllers. Onsen was good when you opened the window to view... More

We were there for the Autumn celebrations, when its packed with overseas and Japanese visitors. When is saw it from far, my thoughts were... Haiz... why this hotel... but when we saw our room, my God.. how grateful we were. Room was big and clean with two beds no doubt a little smaller than a double bed. Nothing to complain... More

I've been there during the April Spring Festival when basically no other hotels were available anymore. It's been a surprise! the hotel is 10 min outside the center by car, but it has a private free parking area, the staff is very kind and they mostly speak english (not easy in small towns). Free coffee and tee in the lobby... More

I felt obliged to review this hotel as the only other English review here does not do justice to the surprisingly enjoyable time I had here. The good and the not so good: The good: There is a public Japanese bath in the hotel. It was good and big, with many shower points and 2 baths; one of which had... More

spent 2 nighst in this hotel during the Takayama authum festival. because of the festival had trouble finding a decent hotel in the city, and only available hotel was this one, at an overpriced offer of about 180$ a night, including breakfast. took a double room, with my wife, but room was very small (even in Japan standarts), though clean....
