Had a great time visiting the inn, exceptional cleanliness & very polite innkeeper. Food was good, prepared very well. Among the few places to be frequented visit when we intend to return for ski trip to Takayama again. The guesthouse also provided a modern onsen filled with the actual onsen water(words are in Chinese and Japanese).

It's near frrom the station. The owner is wellcoming and we enjoyed a quiet atmosohere ogf japanese tradition. At the dinner, we ate a delicious hobamiso, a speciality of Takayama. The prices are correct.

I travelled to Takayama in late December, always snowing, but when we arrived the minshuku, the old lady was very helpful to clean up the wheels of our every suitcase. I booked months ago as Christmas holiday is always a high season in Takayama. And since we planned to go to Shirakawago too, and afraid we cannot get bus tickets.... More

Stayed for two nights. Close to station (5-10 minute walk). Easy to locate. Lovely lady greeted us. Not much English but easy to make yourself understood. Had room with two beds and bathroom shower. Room was decent size and beds comfortable. Provided with water for tea drinking. Yukata provided for wearing to onsen. Onsen was small but clean and refreshing.... More

Coming from the North of Japan, we maybe have to get accustomed to the higher priced southern part but this Minshuku is just an efficient and quite comfortable way of spending your nights at Takayama. Not much more. We thought it was a bit on the pricy side looking at the place which is quite basic (but that could just... More

Of course, shared amenities, that is what anyone who knew Japan would expect in a family run business. No problem, but maybe a little surprising for first time visitors! Maybe bring a towel with you if you are unfamiliar with the customs. I walked everywhere! Got up early to miss the tourists and strolled down the quiet, ancient streets. This... More

The young woman who greeted us was friendly. The tatami room was spacious for our family of four. Shared amenities for washing up and toilet. Nice onsen. Centrally located so we could walk to the main areas in this lovely town. Had a great time.

I've been there before. It has something that the other hotels don't have. And that is the ONSEN bath. It has two beds inside. And a table, and a TV. It's quite wide. If you have a lot of luggage then you're in luck. You can left there beacause it's very wide. Just like i say. So anyway, that is... More

We stayed here for two nights over the New Year period. We have stayed in ryokans before but this was our first time where we had to share amenities. The shared amenities were no problem as we never saw anyone else in the onsen nor did you have to wait for the toilet. Our family of four (2A + 2C)... More

Well located inn - does not claim to be a ryokan. We travelled in early January, with outside temperatures falling to -8C at night. Traditional Minshuku rooms are standard - tatami mats and futons with free wifi. These rooms do not have en-suite facilites, and one uses the clean common toilets and baths. The biggest issue for us was the... More
