Conveniently located, simple small rooms which are ok if all you're doing is sleeping and spending all your waking hours exploring around Takayama. Concierge helpful and recommended a wonderful grilled meat restaurant within walking distance.

As many has said before this is probably the definition of mediocre. Staff is unfriendly, no flexibility possible. Room was very warm at night. Even with ac at full it was difficult to sleep. Good location though and very quiet.

Location- Right in front of the train station. We walked up the hill to the mountains where “the walk” is in about 1 hour. Everything is a short walk. Reception- Grouchy man! First short dry employee we have experienced in the entire trip. Breakfast –Looked terrible we went elsewhere. Room-We had a twin nonsmoking that was a good size. No... More

I should know better. Booked this hotel because it offered a great location with an excellent rate. If it's too good to be true… OK, here goes - front desk helpful - there's a requirement to pay in full on check in which is a bit strange and you also have to choose your breakfast for the next day too.... Washington Plaza is a typical Japanese business hotel, albeit this one is quite basic. Our room is clean and quiet though and everything works (although, on occasions, the old washlet did make a noise for a minute or so after flushing). The hotel is conveniently situated opposite the train station and next to a rental car firm (if you're planning... More

This hotel was good . Ideal for why we wanted . 1 night stop . Close enough to all the key things and places in Takayama. Staff were very helpful . We arrived on a motorbike as part of a road trip. They have no Parkin but the staff allowed me to park outside on the pavement which was great... More

The hotel may not be great and facilities limited and maybe pricey. However the location is great, directly opposite the railway station and on the same side as the old city. Good for short stays to visit Takayama, Shirakawa-go and the Alpine areas.

As most posters say, the location is great - opposite the station and close to the main sights. The hotel is basic. Rooms are very small - double bed against the wall and small bathrooms. And I mean small! Flimsy door cards that are only issued one per room. Beds are very, very firm indeed. The decoration is certainly vintage... More

The rooms were small but that's usual in Japan. The worst was the mattress which was horrible giving me backaches. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone since there are plenty other staying options

Its directly opposite the Takayama JR Station and Nohi Bus Terminal making it convenient to go to Kawaguchi-ko. The Wifi is free and the size for triple room is spacious for Japan standard. Although this hotel have restaurant, it only serve breakfast but that's not a problem as there are plenty of restaurants nearby although you might want to go... More
