Booked 4 rooms for a one-night family trip, including double, triple and quad. Booking portal easy to use but a multiple room booking wasn't possible. Rates vary from about ¥10000 to ¥13500 (western triple) per person for stay and breakfast/dinner. The ¥3500 difference was a little odd. Service staff were excellent and helpful. Breakfast and the Hida Beef dinner was... More

I like this hotel already after entering it. The service of staff are really good and they consider our situation (maybe we all look so tired at that time). The dinner and breakfast were good with local beef. Location is excellent when we planned to go to famous spot in Takayama. We love this hotel, small but clean and quiet.

Stayed here for 1 night in a room that was spacious enough for my family of 4. Rather old-style with the "push-in" type buttons on the lift. Location was good, about 8 mins walk from the JR station and it's really a stone's throw away from the main shopping areas and morning market. Loved the special welcome touch of placing... More

Having stayed at a 5 star ryokan in Kyoto, this place was a letdown. Not the ryokan's fault though. The staff was great in meeting many requests except for one: vegetarian meals so I chose not to have any meals in the ryokan. The smell of Hida beef permeated through the hallways of the top floor. So future vegetarian travellers,... More

This ryokan, like most other ryokans, was quite old, but had its own charm. The onsen was quite all right, though it was a pity they didn't have private onsens. There is free wifi, but limited to the lobby, so you can't really access the internet in your room. The food was wonderful. Dinner was served in the comfort of... More

We stayed 2 nights in two double rooms (family of 4). The service is very very good, rooms are nice, the place is centrally located, and they have free parking to boot. Our first time in a ryokan and we will be looking for more. Highly recommended!

We stayed 3 nights with 2 small children in this Ryokan. That is a typical Japanese style hotel with tatamis on the floor and a low table in the room to eat. We had a great time to experience the traditional Japanese way of living. Breakfast and dinner was included. For the youngest we got a Japanese style children’s meal... More

I stayed two nights in this traditional Ryokan which is a short walk from the train station. They displayed my name on the notice board to welcome me. Shoes come off in the lobby and are stored on shelves. Slippers are provided. The room is a spacious with tatami mats, paper sliding doors & you are provided with yukata's to... More

stayed here 3 nights. This Ryokan is located close to the JR Takayama station as well as close to the "main street" of the town. The tatami is very comfortable and the onsen is very nice. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the dinner that was provided by the Ryokan, very good value for money and what a feast it... More

The Ryokan Seiryu is fairly handy to JR Takayama station (make sure you have your map or gps with you before setting off through the maze of streets). One of our names was on the front welcome banner and a very friendly receptionist welcomed us to the Ryokan. Shoes are removed in the foyer and stored in shelves until you... More
