Stayed here for two nights while we were in Takayama. Really nice room. Wifi wasnt that good but usable. Breakfast had little variety but food was okay. The best part of the hotel, was the onsen. It was really nice and enjoying, soaking in onsen while it was snowing. Hotel, though quite a distance from the JR station, is made... More

We stayed at the Associa for two nights in January. The hotel has very helpful staff, offers great views over Takayama and has an onsen available. It offers Western and Japanese dining - with the Japanese restaurant on the sixth floor offering a limited menu at very reasonable prices. The buffet brekfast offered great variety. Our room was spacious and... More

We had 2 nights stay here during winter (2 adults and 1 child) in a triple room. The room was large and clean, one of the biggest rooms I have ever stayed in. And a large bathroom/ dressing room area. The views of the mountains and valley with town below were stunning in the snow. The onsen was also good... More

Very picturesque hotel overlooking the town. A little out of the way but an easy 7 minute shuttle bus ride away. Shuttle bus ride is free and runs almost every hour. We had 2 adults and 2 kids. Stayed at the very spacious combination Western style and Japanese style rooms. Two double beds for the Western part and then 2... More

Our room was enormous, with half set up in Western style and then a tatami mat section by the window which the staff would convert to a sitting room during the day, then 2 Japanese style beds in the evening. We were travelling as a family of four, and it was great to have more space than usual. The views... More

I went back to Takayama for the first time in 20 years or so, and was surprised to hear so many foreign languages (French, Spanish, English, Russian?) there. On the train from Nagoya to Takayama I already heard a few languages, but this hotel seemed truly popular for foreign travellers. What my friend said ('Now you see lots of foreign... More

I stayed in December prior to my 2 ryokan bookings in Takayama. It was snowing/raining fairly heavily the 2 days that I stayed and the bus took close to 45 minutes to make it back to the hotel from the pickup point. It was the same coming down from the hotel which brought you to the station, but not exactly... More

I will give the hotel a passing grade as for its facility, restaurants, and services, however its location which is a 10 minutes bus away from the town center was the big drawback. The hotel did provide a shuttle bus service to the train station, which is at the town center, but all things considered, if you are like us... More

This hotel was superb in almost every way. The price was reasonable, the room was enormous by Japanese standards, and the food was delicious. Everyone on staff was eager to please. We preferred the café restaurant on the 6th floor, but the food was good everywhere. The shuttle was reliable (although the schedule has a few irregularities that need you... More
