Rooms are huge even by A Mercian standards- we had several rooms booked one a triple and it was comfy. Mini fridge in rooms, and massage chair in all rooms! Fun to have yu kata robe to wear to spa and onsen made it feel like less of a big hotel . Morning breakfast good value tasty Japanese food and... More

We stayed in this area for a few days while we traveled through Japan. This hotel is a bit up and away from town and offers wonderful views of the Japanese Alps. Because the road up is winding and has no sidewalks, walking is not encouraged. the shuttle run very regularly to take you into town to explore the area,... More

Surprised how big the room was when we got there. They were able to fit 3 double beds in the room and there is still a place for the sofa and table. The bathroom is also big. Loved the idea that the sink is outside the bathroom. There is a shuttle/bus service to and from the town. Must visit the... More

I stayed for three nights with my parents. They stayed in a deluxe twin room and I stayed in another. We had a very relaxing time for the most part. It was fortunate that we stayed over three weekdays and not during the weekend, because this hotel caters to tour groups mostly. On our third day (Friday), a few large... More

This place regularly hosts 5-6 tour buses, but our view of the snow-caps from the 11th floor was spectacular--only to be superseded from the bath in the spa on the 7th floor. Takayama is a delightful town, and though the hotel is a LONG walk from the town built to represent the traditional villages of Gifu and the downtown, it's... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights as part of our independent tour of Japan. The rooms were quite spacious, clean and beds very comfy, decor little dated (my husband said it reminded him of being in a dollhouse!!!) but overall in very good condition. Although the hotel is out of town they run a regular free shuttle bus that... More

This hot spring resort hotel is located 10 minutes away from Takayama town up on a hill. The hotel provides an hourly shuttle to ferry passengers between the resort and town centre. Pickup and drop off is at the bus stop in front of the JR train terminal. Our standard twin room at the resort was well appointed and very... More

Arriving at Takayama railway station the cafe (Scenery) to the right (as you walk out) has information about the bus connection to Associa Takayama Resort. The bus travels at least hourly between the railway station and the hotel. It leaves from the main road straight in front of the cafe. It is a 10 minute trip and leaves exactly on... More

A nice and modern onsen hotel on a hill overlooking Takayama. While there is a free shuttle to the station, it is probably not really convenient to just visit Takayama, but rather to also make day/half day trips by car in the area such as to Shirakawago, Kamikochi and Oku-Hida. You can soak in the onsen after returning and then... More

The onsen here was excellent! Covering two floors in the spa wing, and with male and female baths alternating daily, I would highly recommend anyone staying here to enjoy them instead of bathing in the rather small ensuite toilet! The hotel even provides a bag for guests to carry towels, etc. to the onsen. Frontdesk service was efficient and helpful.... More
