Stayed with 40+ friends as a Group and enjoyed stay there every moment. Beautiful View, Clean Rooms, Great Breakfast and Dinner spread.. We had many Vegeterians and enjoyed specially made Veg. preparations unlike usual struggle. Japanese style room is too good... Great Value for Money.

The hotel is well located, the rooms are spacious, have a couple of spas a very nice souvenir shop, the beds are good, bathroom is also spacious, the people seems like all japanese, very grateful treatment. The town here is like the hotel, nice.

Staff were helpful and the hotel may well be one of the better ones in that area. It was comfortable and clean, but not as nice as other hotels I stayed in. Although it is a short walk to restaurants and the main part of town, its surroundings are not pretty. It did have hot baths and seemed very popular... More

This hotel is excellently placed for enjoying the old town of Takayama, within easy walking distance of Family Mart (if your budget requires take-away), railway station and restaurants and shops aplenty, and the little morning market along the river. In my opinion the hotel was well-appointed, and well-serviced.I loved the fun modern sculptured lights above the check-in desk and other... More

This hotel is fine if you don't have great expectations. The rooms were clean but space was limited. The bathroom appeared to be a prefab container installed as a single unit. Furnishings were dated and tired. Breakfast was buffet style served in either a Japanese or Western dining area and had good selections. Service provided at the hotel was adequate,... More

We stayed here as part of a tour to Japan. This was the worst of the hotels we stayed in - dated and rather tired. After really good breakfasts in our previous hotels this one was very lacking in choice. Even the air seemed smoky and on the ground floor you could smell the swimming pool - all rather off-putting.

We were served a multi course dinner and the beef shabu shabu was very delicious. The breakfast was wide spread and the japanese yoghurt was very nice. There is onsen and swimming pool at the basement. However the onsen at the rooftop is more interesting. There are two levels: first level is enclosed while the rooftop is open air and... More

This is an expensive hotel. Sometimes that's ok if the quality is there, but in this case it's not. This hotel is very dated. The furnishings are bland but reasonably comfortable, but there were a number of things in the room that were not working properly. The breakfast provided was as bland as the hotel. The location was ok, but... More

A good standard hotel with large rooms. About 200 meters from the station and close to the old town attractions. Best feature was the Onsen (Japanese hot baths) on the roof top. Friendly and helpful staff and a good buffet breakfast. We had dinner at the nearby Kyoya restaurant in the old town where the Hida Beef was wonderful.

We stayed at this hotel as part of Trafalgar tour. Takayama is a lovely town but everything closes very early at night. This hotel has 2 Onsen, and seems well frequented by local patrons. As further inland we were going, I realized how much the hotels became more typical, less Western. And Hida was like this. We had 2 good... More
