This hotel suited us. It was close to the station but central enough to walk everywhere over our two night stay. The room was a little cramped and it was very bright in the morning but that's fairly standard. The option of a private onsen was perfect for us - this is reason enough to book here. They also have... More

Large quite tall hotel arranged in three wings. Some pleasant urban views with the wooded hills in the distance. Standard room is not that large again. International breakfast was very good, with both American and eastern cuisine. There is also a separate Japanese restaurant.

Takayama is a relatively small city of under one hundred thousand people but this makes it possible to walk to its many shrines and the old part of town from the hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the hotel staff are as expected very courteous. Two options for breakfast, one primarily western buffet and the other primarily Japanese... More

We walked from train station to hotel, 10min. Room was clean and modern. The western style room is not large but OK.The bathroom is a pod in the corner near the front door, step up, it is small but adequate, the shower is good and hot. The only english channells available is CNN and BBC news. There are a lot of restaurants,convenience... More

We stayed at the Hida Hotel plaza Hotel in Takayama for two nights. It is centrally located, very spacious hotel, and a very typical japanese hotel. You can be around the hotel in kimono-type top and bottom which is provided by the hotel. They have a public bath of thermal waters, which we did not see anywhere else when travelling... More

Close to Takayama station. Short walking distance from the bus terminal and train station The room so big with separate toilet and bathroom. The bed so big and very comfortable also large sofa, free wifi. Staff are very limited in english but friendly and helpful. I will stay here again for next visit to Takayama.

Yes, that's right - this hotel is somewhat odd. Firstly, the place is like a maze. It's quite cavernous and is spread over several "wings". We stayed two nights, which is enough to get round the very interesting little town of Takayama. Conveniently, the hotel is a pleasant walk from the railway and bus stations. Like all hotels in Japan,... More

Short walking distance from the station. We stayed in a western room, one of the biggest we ever slept in. Big bathroom also, the shower is so powerfull, it will blow your hairpiece away. Decoration is very outdated. We enjoyed the temple walk in the north of town. Takayama is a pleasant town.

I stayed here two nights and the hotel had everything I could need. The location is great as the main part of town is only a short walk away. The room was spacious and had free wifi. The western breakfast was good and I enjoyed the pork dumplings.

This hotel is huge and it was first difficult to find our room. It was comfortable, reminded me of ex-Russian hotel, so don't go there if you are looking for charming room. It is walking distance from the train station and well located in the city to visit all major sites by foot. Please choose the Japanese restaurant for your... More
