Traveled with 83 year old mother with walking difficulty wasn't easy to get around, but staff was very kind to offer her a wheelchair. The gentleman at the front desk was very sincere and did his best to please all of us. Hotel was steps away from bus terminal and all other sightseeing. Breakfast room was little small but had... We stayed in the Best Western during the April matsuri when the city was full of tourists. It was hard to fault the earnest staff and large, comfortable room, or the location close to the train station. Yes, the wifi was a bit dodgy and prone to downtime. Perhaps it was heavily utilised, unlike the "spa" at the top. Sadly,... More

We were part of a group which the hotel tries to cater for and fails. Nowhere to sit and have a drink and relax after a long day.. The worst thing was the buffet breakfast. Not enough space, tables tucked away in a corner of reception, lucky to get a table. The breakfast was the worst I have had for... More

After experiencing the small rooms in other Japanese hotels, it was a welcome change to check into the Best Western. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was provided in our overnight package which was average - not the largest selection but food was decent. We had the Hida beef special in the restaurant located in the hotel which was... We paid €141 for a double room including breakfast here. The location was great but to be honest this hotel just wasn't worth that price. We stayed on the 7th floor and while the room itself was fine, the wifi was truly awful. When you are travelling around Japan and you shell out for a hotel rather than a hostel,... More

Having read some of these glowing reviews, I wondered if I'd been staying at the same hotel!!! FIRST, the GOOD points:- it was clean and modern, the bed was large, the young lady on reception was efficient, intelligent and helpful, and it was in a good location. NOW, the BAD points:- there is no lounge area or bar which made... More

We have just returned from a group tour of Japan and stayed at this hotel for two nights. The positive aspects are that it is centrally located in this charming small town and that the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was fine with good shower pressure and was clean. I'm afraid that's about it! The air... More

We arrived to be asked immediately to change to another hotel because of overbooking. This is despite the hotel seeming broadly empty for the entire two nights. Secondly - why have a laundry bag and form in a room if you do not actually offer a laundry service? When I asked about this at reception they tried to point out... More

Close to the train station in a quiet block but close enough to all the sites in the town, its quite new, nice, modern, reasonably sized rooms, super comfy beds, very clean, great dinner in the Japanese restaurant, nice breakfast buffet, helpful and pleasant staff, good price... can't think of a single negative!

Hotel is cozy and comfortable. We got an upgrade to a larger room (full size double) which was an incredible bonus! Had lots of space to open up our luggage. Bed allowed for a good sleep, the spa area is clean and luxurious, with jacuzzi, hot bath and steam mist room. Nice changing rooms too. Very welcome end to the... More
