Straight out of the Takayama station, cross the road and head straight. Hotel is just 5-10min walk. Room was spacious with enough space between the super single beds. Breakfast is offered with option of Japanese and western. Variety of food offered but doesn't change every day. It is within walking distance to miyagawa morning market and the sanmachi (old street).... More

The main positive for this hotel is its location. Walking distance to the Takayama Train station and Nohi bus centre and within the town itself. We were in room 402 with window views of the back of other buildings. Two single beds were put together to form a double. The carpets are rather old and the room had a faint... More

Having travelled most of the day from Hakone it was good to arrive for a swift, friendly check in & comfortable room where we could enjoy a cup of tea. Located across the road from the station, basically a block behind, everything you will need is close by. The old town architecture/markets were very interesting, also the cedar balls on... More

The location of this hotel is a 5 min walk from Takayama JR station, Nohi bus center and is also within walking distance to Sanmachi, Miyagawa morning market etc. Finding food around this area is never a problem and there are a few convenient store nearby. You can't really noticed it from Takayama station as it was blocked by Comfort... More

1st it's a walking distance from the train station. Even with luggage. We will never forget the welcome from Mitsu at the reception. Such warm welcome with a smile and helpful tips. The rooms are big and comfortable especially in Japan. The city it self is very nice and lots to see.

Takayama is a fascinating city to explore and small enough to do on foot. Great shops line the "traditional buildings preservation area," and there is a row of beautiful temples and shrines on the edge of town. But the place seems almost unknown to western tourists, and as a result the nicer accommodations are ryokans and aimed at Japanese tourists... More

This is well located to the JR station and bus terminal, less than 5 minute walk. Stayed here initially for 2 nights on a JTB rail tour. Returned a couple of weeks later on our own for 4 nights and managed to get a good deal and free breakfast as we booked more than 3 nights. Our room was smaller... More

One minute walk from the railway station. Both western and Japanese restaurants on-site. Staff were very helpful and seemed to appreciate my attempts to converse in Japanese. We were disappointed to find the bar had closed early when we returned one evening. Restaurant meals were very good except for breakfast.

There is no thermostat in the room. In the spring, the hotel turns the HVAC system to air conditioning. In the fall, they turn the system to heat. The rooms have an on-off switch. So on a warm day in the fall, all you get is heat. Even on a cool day, you have to turn the switch on and... More

I enjoyed what was second stay at this hotel. My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty typical for mid-range hotels outside of the large cities. My wifi was fine for email and casual surfing. The hotel does seem to get mixed reviews and I can't help but wonder if this is because some people are expecting a... More
