One minute walk from the railway station. Both western and Japanese restaurants on-site. Staff were very helpful and seemed to appreciate my attempts to converse in Japanese. We were disappointed to find the bar had closed early when we returned one evening. Restaurant meals were very good except for breakfast.

There is no thermostat in the room. In the spring, the hotel turns the HVAC system to air conditioning. In the fall, they turn the system to heat. The rooms have an on-off switch. So on a warm day in the fall, all you get is heat. Even on a cool day, you have to turn the switch on and... More

I enjoyed what was second stay at this hotel. My room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty typical for mid-range hotels outside of the large cities. My wifi was fine for email and casual surfing. The hotel does seem to get mixed reviews and I can't help but wonder if this is because some people are expecting a... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this Hotel and from the start it all worked smoothly. The Hotel is one short block from the station’s only exit in a relatively low rise area with a number of convenience stores in the area. We were greeted by personable reception staff with excellent English. We were given an excellent room on the... More

Location near the station and numerous English speakers may be the strengths here. Weak wifi capacity and router range is a definite weakness as is a certain confusion as the staff tries to meet Japanese and franchiser expectations. Breakfast includes all you could want for both styles of food and a fun coffee machine. Staff tries hard to be helpful.

We were received by a well meaning, but robot like receptionist, who kept going on and on. We had a room infested with cockroaches on top of that the heat did not work. The buffet breakfast was mediocre and ran out of various items half way thru, despite staff running around like headless chickens. At Yen 23.000 per night this... More

There is an Information desk outside the station and they can direct you to your hotel and give you a good map. The only English Channel was CNN. Hotel is 5 min walk from the bus and train station and reasonably close to all the restaurants and sights of the town. Good size room, clean and has nice mountain views.... More

This hotel has a good location just off the main street in Takayama and not far from the station. We had been told that the rooms were small, but didn't find this. They were bigger than many European hotels and were well equipped. There was Wifi in the room. Because of the location there wasn't a view, but this was... More

This hotel is in a gret position being just around the corner from the train station. The staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was included and was pretty good for japan. Rooms very clean and beds comfortable

We stayed two nights in this hotel near the railway station. It was fortunate that we arrived while the Autumn Festival was on as this gave us an opportunity to walk around the stalls and see the various floats. Our room was clean and spacious and WIFI was provided everywhere. The beds were comfortable and large. The bathroom included a... More
