Visited Takayama Ouan for a second time and loved it just as much as the first. The staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Unfortunately no English tv channels nor wifi in rooms (only in the lobby). Highlight are the rooftop onsen (shared and private).

Definitely worth the price we paid (9600¥ for a double room for 1 night) The staff is extremely nice: we made out reservation via booking for the 16th of March but we had an inconvenient. We called the hotel 1 day before to ask if it was possible to change our reservation to the 17th since booking was not replying... More

We stayed at the hotel recently. Check in apart from language issues was ok. Our room was a twin on the 5th floor on the rail side, but noise was not huge. However room was very hard to negotiate until we got a staff member up to explain. Heating, showers, safe, tea making all were a bit confusing. Shoes have... More

We wanted to have an Onsen experience. We looked at Gifu and many others but could not find much info on PRIVATE ONSEN ROOMS. Finally came upon this hotel which has three(03) Private Onsen Rooms for use by its guests. Location is very good being about a 6 minutes walk from the JR station. The hotel is a no shoe... More

This hotel was such a gem. The style of the hotel was traditional with modern touches. Our room had a king-sized bed on the floor and a small sofa and coffee table. You are provided with traditional robes which you can use inside the hotel. Shoes are not allowed past the lobby which meant the floors of the hotel were... More

This hotel gives you a nice taste of the Japanese experience. After taking your shoes off in the lobby you take the elevator to your tastefully decorated Japanese style room. I thoroughly enjoyed the hot bath on the 13th floor and found it very relaxing. The breakfast buffet was very good. One word of advice if you stay here...get your... More

I booked a little too late to come to Takayama Spring Festival and this hotel was the cheapest vacancy we could find. We stayed in a double room for 2 nights at 60,000 yen with breakfast (so yes, really pricey if you booked hotels late for the Spring festival). The hotel is only 5-7 minutes walk from the JR Takayama... More

Takayama bus terminal or station is just about 300m away! You won't miss the hotel as it's one of the few tall buildings around. In fact it doesn't have an English name displayed (or maybe I just didn't see it), so just walk to the nicest building around. Public onsens are available for free, so are the private ones but... We stayed here for a night and good location as it was only 5mins walk from Takayama Station. The room was small but decent. Before u enter to your room, u have to deposit your shoes in the lobby locker which is quite interesting. What I like most was the private onsen at the roof top. Was a bit disappointed... More

We stayed here for one night. This is very near to Takayama JR station. Quite convenient. The room is a bit small. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices... On top floor, there is public shared hot spring... It was free. There is both indoor and outdoor... I tired both and it was nice.
