Stayed here for a night while driving through. Rooms were quite spacious and modern. The hotel was quite new and beds were wuite comfortable. The hotel has smoking/non-smoking floors so the lobby especially smelt but the non-smoking floors were fine. The blinds were quite terrible and we found we were woken up at 5am because they didn't keep the light... More

I visited Takayama twice and both were in winter times. And during both visit, I picked to stay at this hotel because they have natural hot spring on the top floor. It was really cold in Takayama during winter time, so the hot spring really do warm me up. Room was spacious and we can open both of our suitcase... More

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in a double room. The hotel is short walk (~3 blocks) from the JR Takayama station and adjacent Nohi bus terminal. If you continue walking half a dozen blocks past the hotel on the same street, you'll get to the river, close to the 2 morning markets and historic old town - so... More

I stayed for one night at this hotel in order to visit Takayama. It is conveniently located close to the train station, with very helpful staff (who were able to look after luggage before checkin and after checkout) as well as arrange forwarding of luggage. I agree with other reviewers that while the rooms are small, they are well appointed... More

I stayed one night at the Hotel Alpina in Takayama. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Check in time is at 3.00pm, but if you are early they have a safe room for your luggage. The rooms are small but adequately equipped. The bathroom is especially small but very functional. The rooms are well labeled in English.... More

A basic travel hotel for you to take a rest after exploring the old town. Modern deco and clean. I wish the bed is firm. Nice spa for dipping and relax after an excursion. Many lovely restaurants within a short walk distance.

The location is great, 5 min walk from the station and 10 min walk to old town- for our one night stay this was perfect. Room is modern and comfortable, yes the rooms are small, but I would use the word compact. They still provide all the little amenities you need- and who needs a huge hotel room anyway?? Comfy... Stayed overnight in Alpina. If you are looking for western-style hotel with onsen facilities, I would highly recommend Alpina. Location: Within 5 mins walk from Takayama JR station (When you exit JR station, cross the main road, turn right, turn left when you see petrol station, Alpina is 3 blocks down the street). From Alpina, it takes around 10 mins... More

This hotel was opened only a few years, so everything still looks new. Decor is on the simple side. Rooms are spacious compared to Japanese standard. Hot springs (both inddor and open air) are nice in winter. The hotel is also centrally located, with 5 mins from Takayama JR and Nohi bus station, and with 20 mins walk to most... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to find from the train station. The room was large enough to be comfortable for us and our 11 month old baby and had a nice view of the snowy mountains. The bathroom was adequate but I much preferred to use... More
