This hotel is a mixture of Western and Japanese design. I did not expect such new and modern hotel in the middle of mountains. Beautiful views. Must try the private baths - to be booked upon check in. Love to visit again.

I was attracted by the view of the private and public onsen for this hotel, and the hotel met all my expectations: clean, comfort and tidy room, delicious dinner with A5 beef cuisine, helpful staff, variety of kimono for choosing, beautiful mountain view for open hotspring ...... it is value for money in all aspects and i will surely recommend... We spent two nights at Miyama Ouan, the first impression was terrific. All staffs took care of our belongin and through check in was no problem. But that was it, staffs were just staring and had us to carry out own bags and luggages. They were different! Food was ok, not worth it! Overall was ok but won't go back... More

Worth every penny!!! Such a beautiful and magical place. Truly breathtaking in winter. Onsen amazing - especially the private one which you can reserve. Food absolutely delicious. Staff were amazing. I cannot speak highly enough. We stayed two nights and could have easily stayed a third. You won't be disappointed!

Stayed here 2 nights in April and this was our most expensive stay in Japan, but given that the room rate included an amazing Kaiseki multi-course dinner and an equally impressive Japanese breakfast with artistically arranged dishes and much attention to detail, all in all great value for money. This place is an authentic Japanese ryokan experience - you can... More

After reading many good reviews, I decided to give myself a treat in this up market ryokan in the Hirayu Onsen area. My expectations were also raised by my excellent experience at related establishment Dormy Inn Matsumoto. What I liked : 1) The public bath area was well decked out with both internal and outdoor onsen. The outdoor onsen had... More

I guess The hotel is situated in a small town and very nice mountainous surrounding. There are clusters of Ryokan around but not so many people. This place is remote, peaceful and calm. The service however is not as good as other Ryokan that we stayed. The meals are great. Dinner main course is grill Hida beef however There is... More

We stayed two nights in early October 2013. The room is very clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable and quiet that we did not want to go out during day time at all. The futon is super comfortable for sleeping and the round bath tub inside the room is very good for having a hot bath. There is also a massage chair... More

We only stayed here one night but I would have welcomed more. We had a wonderful room (suite) here which included a bedroom and a living room area, along with a bathroom with a large and beautiful ceramic tub in a seperate cedar lined room. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable for us. The onsen baths were wonderful both indoors... More

Free noodles served at 1030am. Sitting together with everyone in the main lobby wearing our pajama like Traditional Japanese Onsen wear, it felt very much like a large sleepover. Good times. Before eating the noodles, we had finished enjoying a sampling of locally brewed Sake. Our Room was very cozy. Enjoyed the private outdoor Onsen. Walk from lobby to room... More
