Nothing special here, it is definitely budget type. Rooms are tiny, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is just ok. You can buy food and take it back and use the microwave and sit in the eating area and watch tv.

One night stay at Hotel Hana, Kanazawa before heading to Shirakawa-go. Pleasant stay and good choice for budget travellers. Clean and neat room, small double bed, strong wifi signal, small bathtub and complimentary simple buffet breakfast. Good location, near to JR Takayama station and bus station, close to restaurants & cafe, walking distance to morning market and others tourist attractions.

It's not special, good value, good location but the room was bit tired and there was no wifi at our room. The breakfast was basic but I enjoyed. Takayama is not bit town. It's walkable to everywhere. The hotel is located from the JR Takayama station within 10mins walk.

We were in Takayama during the festival period and the location and price of this hotel where very attractive Friendly good speaking staff , breakfast included in room price The hotel is in a walking distance from all attraction and close to train station There is WIFI in all places in hotel but in the upper floors it is bad... Taking in account the price paid, the hotel was way much better than I expected. The location could’t be more suitable - about three blocks from the station and close to most restaurants and city attractions. A decent breakfast is included and there is always coffe and tea in the lobby and tea bags and kettle in the rooms. The... More

A 10 minute walk from the station, our room was drab but clean, with a small double bed, ensuite, minibar, TV, A/C wi-fi and continental breakfast. The staff were nice. It is located near the tourist area, a short walk to the Miyagawa Morning Market (sample the local nibblies), as well as the Kitayama and Higashiyama Walking Courses.

This is a very basic hotel. It is clean, the staff are competent, and the location is very good for getting around, but don't expect anything else. Some small improvements would make a big difference: a bedside light for reading, a light switch beside the bed, so you don't have to get up... the walls are thin and conversations can... More

The hotel is located quite close to the main bus station (~5 minutes walking), and it is relatively cheap in comparison to other hotels in the area. It is located on a dark side street, not in the center of the old city, but since Takayama is very small everything is within walking distance. Our room (with a double bed)... More

Hotel Hana is located just past the Hida Kokubun-ji shrine, about a five minute walk from the train station. They have plenty of parking if you come by car. Location is great for heading to the morning markets, museums, etc. You're not right in the middle of the action, but just a block or two away. This makes for a... More

Not far from the JR station, it is a good place to base yourself in Takayama. The breakfast is adequate and the staff were helpful, despite limited English. Our room was 'Japanese style' and on the smallish side but it fit myself, husband and 10 year old ok. I liked that you could open a window. We borrowed bikes from... More
