We booked this hotel less than 2 months from the date we travel, my 4 years old son stay free of charge using existing bed, free late check-out till 11am. This was the best budget around the area I found as some Ryokan/ B&B child cannot be accommodate. A high slope narrow sidewalk about 100m walk into the hotel from... More

Rooms are simple but neat and clean. The owner was lovely and serves up the most magnificent breakfast in the mornings. It cooks in front of you on the table! Reasonable location, we walked to everywhere (as long as you don't mind a good walk). One thing to note is that the "shared bathroom" is a Japanese style "shared", meaning... More

Small clean and comfortable.. But the highlight is the breakfast.. The manager is so nice and she prepares an amazing meal of local sukiyaki and traditional Hida region foods. You will have a 1 minute walk up hill to get to the hotel. If you ar looking for good cooking in the morning, this is the place. We arrived at... More

Family run hotel. Owner was very nice to lend us a signage "occupied" for the shared bathroom. Breakfast is good & the beef is yummy. We just need a bed for the night, so the room & price was fine for us. Very convenient to reach morning market & old town. We are already planning to go back...hopefully soon &... More

Nice family run hotel that offers a traditional Japanese breakfast (with beef, so advise reception if you have specific dietary requirements). Rooms are homely and randomly decorated (not a bad thing), with AC and come with a hot water jug and kettle. Lavatories are shared and sinks and hairdryers are in a communal area. Shower is shared and there’s no... More

Straight up this 'hotel' is closer to a hostel. There are shared bathrooms, with communal showers. There is no hanging space in the rooms, other than three coat-hangers on hooks on the wall. The beds are very uncomfortable, the pillows are like bags of cement. The fridge in the room also didn't work. The hotel is quite noisy, from both... More

This hotel is quite homely and traditional, but is not as comfortable as some of the larger hotels in town. The bathrooms are communal, with the main shower area open planned where you have to squat to shower. The breakfasts are very traditional and might be confronting to the Western palate. The location is good, being within walking distance to... More

Very basic but clean and bright. Lovely owner very accommodating. Share toilets and bathroom with separate facilities for men and women, It was very quiet when we were there and did not encounter anyone in the showers on either day. They supplied Kimono dressing gowns which was great for getting to and from the bathroom. Unfortunately they do not cater... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in November. We arrived after dark and in the rain, so we took a taxi from the train station. Once we were aware of the hotel's location, walking to and from the train station would not be bad at all. The location was great. The onsen was nice and we had to share a... More

Been there in year 2007 actually. We really like this place and i was so happy making the right choice for three of us to experience real japanese lifestyes which you cant find it big hotels or those newly opened ryokan taken care by young staff. The family who operate this place by themselves were so nice. They hv kimono... More
