The hotel is a ryokan, a typical Japanese accommodation. The wooden and paper room was clean and really particular and the little veranda was so cute! It is really close to the station and to the center of Takayama. Unfortunately the staff speak a very little bit of English. We chose the western breakfast, but it was not really western... More

I felt like this was the most Japanese place I stayed in Japan. Takayama is a great place to visit and I would definitely reccommend staying here. The hotel staff don't speak much english but that was fine with me. Everything was clean and as expected. The onsen was lush if a little too hot in July! Location is great,... More

We just stayed two nights at this ryokan. A truly great Japanese experience. The town is quaint and scenic and this ryokan made us feel like we were truly experiencing Japanese culture and tradition. The food was an experience - many times we didnt know what we were eating and the staff speaks very limited English, but we tried everything... More

The hotel is a dream! if you've been looking to stay and experience a true Ryokan style then stay here. it's not cheap but you'll get what you pay for. I stayed in a triple room with the other 2 friends, futon style. The futon is thick and comfy. The room is so nice, quiet and charming. The location is... More

I stayed in the ryokan for one night. The staff were very nice and friendly though they didn't speak much English. The ryokan is only 5 minutes walk from the train station. We arrived at the ryokan before check-in time, hence we left our luggage there and headed for Shirakawa-go. When we came back at 6.30pm, our luggage was already... More

The hotel is located near to the Takayama train station. Happy to see my name on the board at the entrance. We stayed only 1 night here in Twin room with Private bathroom (approximately USD 100 per room per night) on our way to Shirakawago. The room is separated from the en suite bathroom and toilet and was extremely cold... More

I stayed there with my parents. The rooms were so cozy and clean. Nice and comfortable bed. 5 mins walking from Takayama station. Dinner was fantastic with generous serving. Hida beef was to die for. I personally like it better than Kobe beef. Warm welcome with lovely Japanese service.

I upgraded the package from a simple room to a package that is available just for the ladies (come with 1 free ice-cream, breakfast and dinner and choice of yukata to wear during your stay). Love it! Felt so welcome as the main board on the entrance would have your name, and at same time, they have designated shoe spaces... More

We had two nights here and were quite happy. Nice and handy to the station which is a big bonus when you are walking through the snow which by the way we loved. The front entry covered in a fresh layer of snow looked so good and welcoming. The staff at reception were ok but seemed a bit stressed especially... More

Its hard to find initially tucked down a small street but only 5 minutes walk from the station. Like any typical Japanese guesthouse you have to take off your shoes at the lobby entrance and put on a pair of slippers. Management dont speak English but get by with a series of prompt cards in English which is a good... More
