We didn't think that we would be able to stay in this hotel because it was a little bit pricy. However, due to the fact that a big group of customers just canceled their bookings unexpectedly, the hotel had to do something so as to cover the loss; as a result, they offered limited plans which price 3 times cheaper.... In my second trip to Gifu, we stayed at this hotel across the Nagara River from the main town. It sits right next to several sporting and entertainment venues, so it would be very convenient for events. The rooms were pleasant enough, although some of the furniture has a more dated look (perhaps on purpose). The bed was firm, with... More

Thank you for choosing to stay with the Gifu Miyako Hotel. We are delighted to hear you were able to feel fine in our room. The road where you ran with your colleague is called, “ Naoko Road.” Naoko Takahashi is the Olympic gold medalist marathon runner who was born in this Gifu prefecture. It is often that marathon and... More

Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel has a grand entrance and nice lobby with views through to their carefully tended garden. Wifi mostly efficient, rooms spotlessly clean, good restaurants. Breakfast plentiful but the same every day. Overall a good choice especially if attending meeting in next door conference centre.

negative: - Far from the center - Breakfast not so good. For example they don´t have egg station and you cannot have your omelette or fried eggs fresh done. - Check in timing policy quite tough (We arrived at around 13.00 pm and our rooms were not ready) - Need some renovation Positive - Free internet (not WIFI) with fair... Gifu is a relatively small town, you may visit mostly for business. The hotel is confortable and the rooms spacious, altough these facilities really look all the same in the countryside. Breakfast was OK and the internet connection worked well. The hotel however is not located conveniently. You cannot walk to and from the main station or city centre. Considering... More

I've been a regular here for many years, from the time it was a Rennaissance Hotel. As there aren't that many choices in Gifu, it still is my favorite. But I'm sad to notice a steady decline in quality and services that has been going for a few years now. The location is great if you are on a group... More

We recently stayed here as part of a conference we attended at the Gifu Convention Centre next door. Although the location was great for the meeting, there's not a lot to do close to the hotel, apart from going cormorant fishing and a bit of souvenir shopping at Kawaramachi across the river. The hotel itself is very Western, so if... More

I have had the privilege of staying twice in this hotel, in a very spacious suite. Spacious is not normally an adjective used to describe a hotel room in Japan, but rooms 707 and 724 both have 2 bathrooms, a sitting room, 2 large flat screen TVs and 2 plush, comfortable beds. The marble bathroom has both a shower and... More

This is a great hotel with very spacious, Western-style rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet and a choice of restaurants on site. Internet (need an ethernet cable connection to use it in the rooms) is free. Highly recommended if you need to stay in Gifu.

The 2 super single beds were so thick and comfortable that we slept very well that night. even though we checked in late after going for dinner and the cormorant fishing tour. We had little time to enjoy the hotel facilities. As we had to leave the next morning at 6 a.m. for Nagoya airport, the staff prepared our breakfast... More
