Kyoya was the most comfortable nights sleep we had in our month travelling around Japan. Combined with beautiful gardens just outside our room and amazing food you really can't go past Kyoya Ryokan. I cannot recommend this place enough.

This is a nice little hostel/ryokan that we stayed in for one night. The rooms were tidy, comfortable and warm. We especially liked the onsen!! They were very kind to mind our bags until 7pm after we had checked out in the morning. They also offer free bikes which we highly recommend to move around Nagoya.

I stayed for a week at the Ryokan. My room was on the second floor, it was always clean, they changed the bedclothes, towels, kimonos, and toothbrush on a daily basis. On my room that was a fridge, an electric cooker, a sink, and some cutlery, glasses and dishes. The bathroom had a tub, which was very handy on the... More

Super lovey and helpful staff, and it really feels like a ryokan, with the garden, tatami everywhere and the bath house out back. It's about a 20 minute walk from Nagoya station, but perhaps 10 minutes or less from the nearest subway station.

We stayed for two nights in Nagoya, electing to go for the Ryokan experience. We were not let down. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The room and fittings were excellent with a lovely garden view. Our room had a private bathroom, and also access to the public bath down the hall. Getting around was not difficult, with bicycles... Then, the next day we tried to walk from Ryokan to Nagoya station which we enjoyed the cool breeze and... More

My friends and I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm. It was really nice. The bed was very comfy and warm. New towel, toothbrush and yukata were provided everyday. The location is also good, just 15 minutes walk from Nagoya station and 10 minutes walk to Nagoya Castle. The staff, Hiroshi san, is very nice and helpful. Since we... More

I’ve a very relaxing time here. The hot bath was nice; it really makes you feel at easy. The inner garden was beautiful, giving an atmosphere to the place. The shared-dorm was comfortable enough to let you rest after a long day of sight-seeing. The staff is very cheerful and tries its best to make you feel at easy.

Stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm room and it was fantastic! The room had an attached kitchen/living room area so it felt more like an apartment than a dorm room, and it was the perfect place to hang out. Loved that they had bikes available to use for free. I didn't have a chance to try the onsen, but... More
