The hotel is right across Nagoya Station, perfect for travelers who need to catch an early train ride or flight out of Nagoya. The room is small but clean. Hotel staff are courteous, helpful, and speak English well. Downside: No breakfast available. The hotel is along the road so you could hear the beeping signal for pedestrians every now and... More

My stay in room 217 was one night. I checked in at 0930h, paid cash and left my bag in storage until the room was ready after 1500h. I then spent the day checking out Nagoya and doing some last minute shopping before my flight home the next day. Front desk were efficient and can understand English better than they... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night for transit to Takayama. It is located very conveniently ( right opposit to JR station and JR express bus station). Though the room is really small, but it is clean and at a reasonable price, so ok for 1 night stay.

We booked this hotel for its close proximity to the JR Nagoya station, which was indeed worth it when we had to rush for the shinkansen early in the morning. It seemed that most of the patrons to this hotel were businessmen as well. For 3 nights stay, we booked a Twin room & was assigned the corner room, which... More

Superb location! Easy to locate. Beside Yoshinoya. Room is a tad small but served it's purpose for 1 night stay. Stayed on the 4th floor. Not facing the main road but was still a little noisy around midnight from the nearby construction or road works. There's a window but completely black out and locked hence couldn't see where the noise... More

I've read good reviews here and decided to book this hotel for my stay in Nagoya. I was not disappointed. Really like the close location to the major train stations and subway, restaurants and shopping. The room was very clean and well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely a good value hotel.

We made a short stay for 1 night before travelling to Tateyama. We had a twin room which was on the second floor which was facing the street. The room was actually quite big for a budget hotel. With all the basic you need. But staying on the 2nd floor means you can hear people talking on the street and... More

This is a pretty basic place, but seemed pretty clean and nice to me. I did not have breakfast, but the train station is just two minutes away. The location is obviously the main draw; just across the street from the train station (on the Shinkansen side). The area is quite lively, with many izakayas and other bars/restaurants nearby. Of... The hotel basically has everything we need, really. Like: - Good location, opposite Nagoya Station, next door to Yoshinoya (Fast food chain), 2mins walk down to ESCA (Underground Mall) lots of good food, like Yabaton Katsu (must try) and money Changer near by. - Free wifi, slippers, pajama included. But also Alarm clock? Deodorizer spray? Shiseido Moisturizer? The only downside... More

After staying overnight in the much more expensive Hotel Washingtton in Shinjuku the wondeful little Business Hotel Shinmei in Nagoya offered significantly better overall value indeed. The well layed out small double room was quite comfortable by Japanese standards. The hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. For those interested the Nagoya Castle is also only a quick subway journey... More
