We stayed for a number of nights as part of a tour of Jordan. The hotel itself is dated and needs some investment but on the whole the rooms and facilities are clean and are good enough to make it a three star hotel. The pool is good and the breakfast adequate. Its only failure is that it does not... more

A nice hotel. Friendly. Good spacious room, with easy to use free safe deposit box. Nice pool, no-one in it. Good breakfast and good sandwiches available in the bar. Very well located. Ayla ruins just opposite. 15 minute walk along the front to the fort & harbour. Many shops and restaurants in the street behind and main shopping area just... more

I loved everything about this hotel. My room was large and comfortable with a good view and there was a kettle provided with teabags and coffee sachets. I only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was of a very high standard. Unusually for a buffet, there was friendly attention from the staff such as the smiling waitress who poured... more

Nice hotel about 5 min walk from Aqaba town centre. There is a great but chilly pool and a pleasant garden and bar. There are several dive shops close to the hotel all PADI backed. I picked the first one I came to and got taken to South Beach about 15 mins away to dive over a sunken ship. Cost... more

We booked this hotel in Aqaba in advance, which turned out to be a very stupid idea. The hotel was really good, no remarks there. The pool was nice and refreshing as well. But what is the point about a luxury hotel in Aqaba that does not have a private beach? We ended up taking the shuttle to Coral Bay... more

I've been to Aqaba several times and simply wouldn't dream of staying at a hotel with no beach access. I was sent to here on business so on my free morning I paid 20JD as a day guest at the Movenpick next door so I could use their beach and pool. If you go during a public holiday or school... more

The Gulf hotel is pretty dated and just pretty average. The walls were paper thin - so could hear loads of noise either side of the room through the night. The rate charged was about 75GBP per night - pretty steep for what you get compared to many other hotels across Jordan at the main resorts. The pool was great... more

Our room was dirty, such as dust and hair from the previous visitors on the bedtable. The furniture and the bathroom were totally worn-out. At breakfast the cake and croissants did not seem fresh. I would never recommend this hotel. Maybe we had bad luck ? more

We found a pretty cheap price for this hotel on the internet, ($116 a night) and for the service and location of the hotel it was great. We were put in the best room (don't quite know how it happened - maybe we just got lucky...!) which had a great view over to the port of Aqaba and the sunsets... more
