Stayed 2 nights here as an emergency and were lucky to get in, which surprised me given the state of the place. It was obviously a great hotel in its heyday, but now it is tired and not very clean. On the plus side it is central so all Aqabas bars and restaurants are on the doorstep, and it has... more

This hotel was recommended by a friend [with some hesitation], but since I didn't have time to do any research, I was happy to go for it when I saw the price for their best room was 42 EUR per night. The location was great - right beside a great restaurant [Floka], and right beside all the cafes and shops... more

Alcazar Hotel has a certain faded elegance. It is frayed round the edges but is great value for the price. Location is excellent and it has a deal with Club Murjan (a beach club to the south of Aqaba) allowing free entry to hotel guests - you just pay for the shuttle bus to take you there. The staff were... more

Probably used to be good, but not any more. Though cheap, stinking bathroom, leaking airco, questionable elevator etc. Bed and linnen okay. Ready to be demolished or severly renovated. more

If you like shabby furniture, showers with cold water, dust in the rooms and do not need to sleep, this is the right place for you. We were supposedly given high standard rooms. They were dirty. The furniture, the uncomfortable matresses and even the towels looked having the same age as the hotel: more than 30 years. During the night... more

Yes, it is old, it is dated, it is run-down. But, having recently stayed there, I’d like to put the two negative reviews below into some perspective: - Firstly, you get what you pay for. This hotel is still rather a budget hotel. Rates range from $40-55 for a double. If you want a treat, book the near-by Moevenpick, which... more

My family of four spent two nights at this hotel. It is in desperate need of renovation. Though the rooms were relatively clean, everything looked very worn down. We requested a double bed but were offered a room with two twin beds. The furniture is quite dated but we did have a large sunny balcony. Breakfast was good, with a... more

The hotel diving club is not bad at all, but there's no need to stay at the hotel to enjoy it. The hotel itself is very old, shabby and staff unfriendly. My room was dusty and the bathroom dirty. Renovation is needed here !!! more

I used this hotel with a low budget group. I have been visiting Jordan for 18 months with work for periods of up to 6 weeks. Poor quality. Free inspection hatches provided in rooms for views into the cavities of the hotel, which allow free run for the copious insects. Poor security. Hotels are not known for great security, but... more
