In over 3 weeks travelling through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe this was my favourite lodge. A lovely wooden tree house style room overlooking a waterhole that filled with elephant and buffalo at night, a hide allowing seriously close up views of the elephants, resident crocs and bush babies. Well presented, delicious food, an excellent, friendly, attentive host. The... More

Dear LDB65, I am so happy that Ivory was your favourite lodge throughout your big adventure through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana & Zimbabwe. Staying in the tree house style lodges is a truly unique experience where you can just sit and watch the action at the busy waterhole. Thanks for taking the time to send us your review and we... Ivory Lodge is a beautiful place where we received a superb welcome from the staff and had the opportunity to sleep in a raised cabin overlooking the waterhole. Elephants were frequent visitors, with over 25 coming as close as 15 feet away from the viewing hide. They also wandered around just outside the lodge during the night to add a little... More

Our regret is that we stayed only 1 night. We were given the ex-honeymoon suite (Ndlovu - elephant) which gave a lovely view of the waterhole and could see animals drinking. There is also an observatory hut which takes you closer still to the elephants if you do not make noise they will gather there to take in salt from... More

We had an amazing 2-night stay at the Ivory Lodge & only regret we wish we could have stayed longer... We arrived just before lunch & 20 elephants were at the watering hole. The staff Jamie & Joel were the best! They made us all feel so comfortable, our tree house rooms were delightful & the meals were outstanding. We... More

The room was definitely a 5 star. On the first day there were three giraffes at the river just outside our patio. The managers made a point of checking with us about the rooms, food, and game drives daily. The outdoor shower option was fun...but the indoor facilities of tub and shower were wonderful. Having our own pool to soak... More

Come and see the beauty of the land, animals and the people of Zimbabwe at Ivory Lodge! The animals roam freely day and night, you never know what each day will bring. The elephants are truly majestic. I think they're the real kings/queens of the jungle. A herd of over 300 water buffalo stopped at the waterhole one night, also.The... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ivory Lodge for our honeymoon in September. From the moment we arrived the scenery took our breath away. The staff were lovely and nothing but helpful and the guides were extremely knowledgable. We stayed in a beautiful suite that was extremely clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the Lodge's waterhole. I... More

We spent two unbelievable days at the Ivory Lodge. From the very start, I knew that this was going to be a visit that would be way beyond the ordinary. Jamie greeted us at the door with warmth and cordiality, and, after getting the briefing as to the house rules and stowing our gear in our houses, we had a... More

We passed two wonderful nights at this small camp and don't we just wish we could go right back. While the Lodge itself is an extremely special place with hundreds of elephants flocking to the watering hole each day, overlooked by the rooms on stilts, it is the people who really made our stay. Our hostess, Jaimie, was fresh out... More
