Ivory Lodge is a wonderful camp at which to base yourself for a few days of great game drives in the Zimbabwean bush. The open communal areas of bar/lounge and dining room are comfortable, clean and well stocked. We had a suite which meant that our 'treehouse' had a veranda which normal rooms did not - however, all rooms have... More

My first ever encounter with safari in Africa was Ivory, and I might suffer from it later on. Meaning it will be hard to top it. Arriving there takes you away from reality and amazes you from the first moment. The restaurant/bar/hangout area is a beautiful spacious open area, with a view down to the waterhole and the hide. All... More

Dear Nina, greetings from us here in headoffice and thank you for your lovely review. I wasn't in camp when you came through and I'm glad to hear my team looked after you and that you enjoyed our lodge. You are right about the rainy season however, this week when I was in camp, there were hundreds of elephant. Indeed... More

Ivory Lodge is a classic bush safari experience. The staff is uniformly hospitable and helpful and knowledgeable. The 'tree houses' are comfortable while still making you feel like you are part of the bush rather than separate.

Our rustic room at Ivory Lodge was fun, with great views overlooking the waterhole and a chorus of hyenas one night. Peter was a fantastic guide whose insight and experience led us to some great wildlife viewing. The meals were excellent, the best of the trip, with tasty finger foods along with our sundowners, and steak grilled perfectly. But best... More

Like many other tourists I hadn't actually heard of Hwange but my aunty who lives in Harare told me I could not go to Vic Falls without visiting Hwange and Ivory Lodge. She was so right!! This place typifies what is special about Zimbabwe, stunning scenery and beautiful animals viewed from a rustic and truly magical lodge run by very... More

Well it must have been my parents you met in camp and fellow directors, so you would have heard all the fireside stories and perhaps, if Ceddie was on his A-game would have sung some songs too? Thank you for coming to Ivory, I'm chuffed that your Auntie recommended us, that was fortunate for us. Thank you for your lovely... More

Wonderful accommodations (thatched huts on stilts!), great food, friendly staff. Be sure to get up early enough to see the bush babies in the main building..they also come in the evening too. They are adorable! The "hide" (as they call it; in the US we would probably call it a blind) allows you to get closer to the animals at... More

Hello Barbara Thank you for your lovely review and for mentioning the family of bushbabies - so cute and so friendly. I was in camp this week and we had 6 of them dancing around the restaurant at sunset on their way out for a nights feed in the bush. We also had herds and herds of elephant, shouting and... More

I was on an 18 day camping tour with Intrepid and decided to upgrade to a double room for the night. What a special open air experience! I slept with the blinds open, inside a mosquito net, and could hear the wildlife all night. You can sit up in bed and observe what's happening in the middle of the night... More

Hi Carrie B Well given that you have travelled Africa and spent most of your time under canvas, you will be pretty accustomed to the out doors. We also love sleeping with the blinds open so that you can sit up and check out the waterhole if you hear a noise. Its very special indeed. What fun to venture over... More

We stayed here as part of a two month journey around Africa. Ivory Lodge was beautiful, it stood out from many places because of the natural beauty of the place. I could believe that you could go sit so close to wild elephants it was amazing. The experience is fantastic and very one who is heading that way should try... More

Please keep the light shining on Ivory, everyone indeed should experience those Presidential Elephants, they are quite surreal. Thank you All the best Sharon More

My girlfriend and I had a great time here, it was my second time and her first and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff is amazing and they really cater to your needs with all the activities. It makes for an interesting nights sleep with lions making noise right outside!

We went as a family in early January '15, the bush is very lush. Received a great welcome, did an afternoon a game drive with Peter, a very knowledgable guide and brilliant with our 2 kids. The rooms are clean and well appointed with a waterhole in front of the lodge. Dinner was excellent.

Dear Jono What an honour to have you and your family spend some quality time at Ivory - just sorry it was only one night. Peter is amazing on game drives, he has an uncanny knack of scouting out the lions and I love being out with him. I'll be sure to give him your comments. Take care and hope... More
