This campsite, part of the Ivory Lodge was a perfect place to camp for our large group. Whilst some of the group needed the comfort of a bed in the nearby lodge, the majority of the group were happy to set up tents and sit around the campfire at night to listen to the wildlife and enjoy all the fun... Had an absolutely amazing time at Ivory Lodge! If anyone deciding where to stay when visiting Zimbabwe, Ivory is a definite must!, especially if you want to treat your Mrs. with a bit of romance. The pictures don't do justice and I'm sure neither will my review. This is what being in the heart of Africa feels like. The staff... More

We spent two nights at the Ivory lodge just after having been at the Camp Amalinda, both belonging to the same company. The Ivory Lodge is a very nice place with a very good service, but different from its sister camp. Logic because the focus of the visit to Hwange is not the same as the one of the visit... More

What an amazing experience at Ivory Lodge! The staff was delightful and incredibly helpful. We were in awe as hundreds of elephants visited the pan directly in front of the lodge to quench their thirst. I'm already planning a return trip in 2015. Thanks very much Ivory! Keep up the great work.

From the minute we saw the elephants head towards the pond for an afternoon drink, we were mesmerized. The food, the fire, the service, the incomparable "huts", Dudley - the best guide in Zimbabwe, the game drives, all amazing. We only wished we had more time in camp to sit and enjoy the beauty. We agree with just about everything good... More

Late July 2014, my family stayed at the Ivory Lodge for two nights. The view to the waterhole from the treehouse accommodations is amazing - we looked out at around 200 elephants! For a closer view, you can go to the property's edge, to the Hide, where the staff sprinkles salt to attract elephants to within feet of where you're... More

We recently stayed at the ivory lodge for a family holiday. Shortly after we arrived over 200 elephants appeared at the waterhole - an incredible site! The guide suggested we get in the land rovers and get abit closer. Thus set the tone for the rest of the 3 day stay. Watching the elephants from the tree houses as the... More

Dear Michael M, Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are so glad you got to see 3 lions near the lodge – incredible sighting! We have one elephant that seems to like spending its time in camp and we have named him Mazoe – it is amazing to see these wild animals get so close! I will... More

Our group of 13 plus our two guides were made very welcome on arrival at Ivory Lodge. Another awesome welcome came from around 80 elephant gathered at the waterhole. Some of our group went on a sunset safari while the rest of us sat in the hide near the waterhole feeling "up close and personal" with the elephants who were... More

So often when holidaying, reality simply doesn’t meet expectations, whether it be the accommodation and service standards or the experiences one has. The opposite definitely applies to Ivory Lodge. After a pleasantly scenic drive up from Bulawayo we were greeted with a very warm welcome from Joel the manager and his staff and provided with a refreshing drink. As we... More
