Built in amongst the striking and picturesque Matobo Hills is Camp Amalinda. Each room is uniquely built around natural rock formations. The rooms are very well appointed, the beds very comfortable and there is plenty of hot water. Each room is very private and guests can opt to take a bath in their outside tubs. There is also a wonderful... More

Wow, what a place! I was given room 8 (I think) which had its own 60,000 year old cave painting, and a view of the waterhole from the balcony. Al the rooms are coipletely indivual, so check out a few if you can. Mine had a 4 poster bed, and unbelievable views (from the bed) over the landscape (sleep with... More

We went to Amalinda after getting married, and could not have chosen a better place to be with my new Husband. They went over and above to make it special for us. It was truly the best two days ever. Thanks to Billy & Howard and the Amalinda Team

We spent New Year's Eve here - really one to remember. The team put on a great party, on top of the normal service. The camp's setting is stunning, with views over the Matopos Hills and a nearby waterhole which had frequent visitors. The rooms - large traditional huts set in among the rocks - are very luxurious. The spa... More

From the moment you arrive you smile. Incredible, amazing fantastic. This place is a 5 star African experience. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to matopos to stay here for at least one night. Expensive yes but definitely worth it.

Camp Amalinda is nestled in the ancient Matopos Hills. It's only about 40 minutes drive from Bulawayo but you feel centuries away. The camp is artfully hidden within the rocks and we couldn't believe it when we were led through a large crack only to emerge with a view to die for and a room the size of the Flintstones... More

In July 2012, we took our two children - ages 7 and 10 - to Zimbabwe. Camp Amalinda was our first, and most magnificent, stop. We have been incredibly lucky to travel extensively around the world, often in luxurious and unique digs, but have never seen anything close to this. Why this is not top of every global hipster list... More

We saved Amalinda for our final stop on a three week trip around Malawi and Zimbabwe.
