After a 45 minutes drive out of Bulawayo, we arrived at the Camp after traversing the granite outcrops and admiring zebras and zonkeys grazing in its grounds. We were greeted by Billy, the ever cheerful and helpful manager. We stayed for two nights. All Camp stuctures, i.e., reception, restaurants, bar, library, swimming pool, lounges, etc., are designed to harmonize with... More

Exhausted after 8h driving in the heat of the day, we arrived at Camp Amalinda to be welcomed by charming Billy and his wife with chilled Malawi Shandy and refreshing towels. Our party of 7 were swiftly shown to the amazing lodges they had prepared for us. The team at the lodge, from gardener, to maid, to chef and waiter... More

This camp is like a page from a fairytale, as is Zimbabwe itself. Our suitcases were whisked away and we were led on a climb up thru' the granite rocks to our room. Around and in the boulders our room was built; on one side of the boulder was our netted bed, and on the other side was the bathroom... More

The food was just fantastic (and they happily catered for me being a vegetarian) and the scenery, location and accommodation was just breathtaking. I will definitely be visited Bulawayo again and will without a doubt make sure... More

I recently returned to Camp Amalinda with my two young children (9 & 7) after an absence of three years. As in our previous visits we found the lodge to be as enjoyable as ever. The setting is spectacular, both the main lodge and the beautiful rock swimming pool area. The staff and management are very friendly and are only... More

The accommodations are build between and around the granite rock which are naturally there. This gives the rooms (well: houses!!) a fantastic atmosphere and makes it a great place to stay. It's just 40 km from the centre of Bulawayo, so a good place to go if your in town. Paul was a good guide, but all the staff try... More

This was our first stop on the way to Hwange National Park. Our room was so unusual, actually built into the rock. We had a huge boulder in our room. The rock formations in Matobo Hills are spectacular. We went to the local park to get up close on foot with a ranger to a group of rhino. We also went... More
