My husband and I had a great stay at the Maramba River Lodge! The lodge itself is very cute and allows you to feel like you're staying at a safari lodge for a fraction of the cost. The bar, pool, and restaurant overlook the Maramba River where we saw hippos, monitor lizards, and all kinds of birdlife while having a... More

A slightly faded and low-key but still quite attractive camp/resort located on a bend in a small creek just off the main road halfway between Livingstone town and Victoria Falls (you'll need your own transport, or taxis, to get to either but it's a short journey, and most tour operators offer pick-ups). At dry times of year the 'river' is... More

Whenever i am Livingstone city,i always stay at Maramba River Lodge, situated in the mosi-o-tunya national park just a few kilometers from the mighty Victoria falls, a world heritage site. I have always enjoyed the food and services at the River Side Restaurant under swaying palm trees and free game viewing in the Maramba River which is home to hundreds of... More

Stayed one night at the Maramba after staying at a more expensive 4 star hotel. What a welcome change at the Maramba. Check in was easy and the front desk lady was excellent. You can sit on the deck next to the pool and look over the Zambezi River. Which had a group of hippos and a crocodile. I stayed... More

This could so easily be a solid 5 star place to stay. But unfortunately the slack service and inattention to cleanliness in the common areas lets it down. The rooms themselves were lovely. Tented safari style with ensuite. Nice to have a common area for wifi access, but it had not been cleaned in some time. Empty bottles and other... More

Dear Tamaltown Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us and for your feedback. I am certainly disappointed to read that you found the service to be slow and the common area untidy. Maramba River Lodge was a fantastic resort. Fantastic huge luxury tent with attached ceramic tile indoor bathroom with beautiful private outdoor shower. The hotel is right next to a river which saw hippos in it one day and elephants on the other side another day. The grounds are very natural and blend into the natural surrounding. The hotel staff was... More

Having travelled around Africa now for over 2 years, we can't stay away from this place. Really good restaurant, an excellent team of friendly and hard working staff. Lovely cabins and safari tents with good en-suite facilities. A peaceful and attractive campsite. All set on the banks of the Maramba River. Sit with a cold drink and watch the Fish... More

My second night alone in the bush. Well accepted by the friendly staff. My first visit to Zambia, surprized by the friendly people in Zambia. I found a camping site at a braai area, power and a shady tree. I booked in early and enjoyed the swimming pool with a waterfall of its own. Walking and taking some really good... More

My husband and I recently spend two months touring in southern Africa and while in southern Zambia we could not remember the name of a wonderful lodge where we were five years ago. After asking around and mentioning to people that the lodge was four kilometers away from Vic fall on a tributary to the Zambezi, we finally were reunited... More

What an experience! Can you imagine: you are lying in your bed, in your canvas tent, and you hear a crunch, crunch, crunch. By the time your "little night music" is over, you have seen the silhouetted form of two very big elephants munching on palm leaves and other leaves about 3-4 car lengths from your tent; you have witness...
