Booked by agent Erica Varga, safaristhruafrica.com, the staff is genuinely friendly, guides amazingly knowledgable, transportation to activities was completely reliable, and food/service/accommodation perfectly awesome. It's nestled on the beautiful Zambezi and even has it's own resident hippo.

This is really a beautiful location right on the Zambezie River. I've traveled extensively and was disappointed with the accommodation though. I've stayed at some of the most luxurious safari camps, so I really shouldn't try to compare them. For one, the air conditioning in the rooms was not very efficient. I'm thankful that we were there in the spring... More

My husband and I started the 3rd leg of a 3 week safari at Toka Leya with friends. GoGo, Cynthia, Odon, Histon and all the staff (especially the barman who kept us in Guava Juice & Rum) were wonderful and really went out of their way to make our stay so memorable. When I problem arose with out itinerary, they... More

We just returned from a 2 week safari in South Africa and Botswana. We wanted to see as many animals as possible and fit in many different safari experiences. We opted for a safari at Toka Leya rather than a hotel and we are so glad we did. The boat drive on the river was fantastic. Our guide Godfrey even... More

Barbara P - so glad you chose Toka Leya in Livingstone, to stay at. The lodge is testament to a more safari feel to the stay, with all the personal touches, attention to detail and intimacy a guest prises above all. Toka Leya, situated on the river, lends itself to river cruises, fishing excursions, nature walks, back-of-house tours and game... More

My husband and I stayed here on the first leg of our honeymoon. We arrived by boat and a herd of elephant were drinking from the river just at the lodge. On arrival Ondine greeted us very warmly and genuinely and showed us around the lodge. The bar and dining area have magnificent views out over the Zambezi. Godfrey our... More

We spent 9 days on a tour from Toka Leya camp in Livingstone (Zambia, to Davison's Camp in Hwange (Zimbabwe) and finally onto Rukomechi Camp in Manna Pools (Zimbabwe). What a fabulous spot we discovered with Toka Leya - a piece of tranquil heaven on the banks of the mighty Zambezi. Shady lunches under the trees, sundowners on the river, G&Ts with one heck of a view. Their comfy couches just beg to be curled up on with a good book. The wood-fired pizza oven, overseen by the legendary... More

This is a one of a kind place! The staff were extremely personable and helpful, greeting us by name at all times during our stay. They eagerly helped make our daughter's 24th birthday memorable.
