Toka Leya was an intimate, comfortable, welcoming camp and a great way to kick our trip to Zambia and later, South Africa. It was small, yet with spacious rooms that were lovely - outdoor shower, king bed with the requisite mosquito netting (and air-conditioning, which we needed, as it was their summer!), lovely deck where we viewed the Zambesi River and... We spent two days here as an end to our 12 day trip across Botswana and into Zambia. This lodge had great creature comforts, which was a great way to get re-introduced to non-safari life. The lodge was still quaint with limited rooms for privacy, beautifully decorated lounge and bar area overlooking the mighty zambezi. They do have an espresso... More

Dear Ovenbird, Thank you for your wonderful review, it is a great relief to be reunited with your little "creature comforts" after a blissful time spent in the bush. Toka Leya is one of the select Wilderness Safaris Camps that is able to supply our guests with Air conditioning. Toka Leya is not a Solar energy camp like most Wilderness... More

We did a little stop over stay to celebrate my moms birthday. The staff at this lodge are super friendly and are always willing to go the extra mile. Even arranging to take us somewhere outside of the park so we could set off some floating lanterns which was very special. The food was amazing its like little explosions of... More

We travelled to Toka Leya for our honeymoon. First of all I would like to say Wilderness Safari is wonderful. If it was more affordable I would visit their camps more regularly. The staff was friendly and approachable, the staff to visitor ratio is very high, so they are always waiting on you, which makes you feel like royalty. I... More

Booked by agent Erica Varga, safaristhruafrica.com, the staff is genuinely friendly, guides amazingly knowledgable, transportation to activities was completely reliable, and food/service/accommodation perfectly awesome. It's nestled on the beautiful Zambezi and even has it's own resident hippo.

This is really a beautiful location right on the Zambezie River. I've traveled extensively and was disappointed with the accommodation though. I've stayed at some of the most luxurious safari camps, so I really shouldn't try to compare them. For one, the air conditioning in the rooms was not very efficient. I'm thankful that we were there in the spring... More

We just returned from a 2 week safari in South Africa and Botswana. We wanted to see as many animals as possible and fit in many different safari experiences. We opted for a safari at Toka Leya rather than a hotel and we are so glad we did. The boat drive on the river was fantastic. Our guide Godfrey even... More
