An excellent lodge with great staff, delicious food and an unbeatable, beautiful location. It was a shame we only had one night - we will return! The river cruise and game drive were both well worth doing.

Dear Oznovice Thank you for your review and I agree that sadly one night is indeed too short. Hoping to see you with us for a bit longer next time round! Kind regards Peter More

After a long journey through rustic Botswana, camping in the marshy floodplains of the Okavango and the savannah woodland of Linyanti, arriving at the magnificent River Club in Livingstone was a welcome treat for this wearied traveler! After a warm greeting and orientation I was escorted to my chalet, an absolutely beautiful oasis overlooking the Zambezi. Great detail had gone... More

I’ve recently returned from 4 wonderful nights at The River Club, just about 18 km upriver from Victoria Falls, and close (but not too close!) to Livingstone. The River Club is situated in a most beautiful setting – overlooking the Zambezi River from the Zambia side, with a small island between the properties riverbank and Zimbabwe on the other side.... Due to the fact that our flight was delayed and we missed our connection, we were stranded in the Johannesburg airport overnight and had to forfeit our entire first day at River Club. Upon our arrival, we were treated like royalty. We were handed a cold drink and were told they had been waiting for us. We were shown to... More

I had the very great pleasure of spending 2 nights at the River Club in September last year while my wife was writing a piece on the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the Victoria Falls. Peter Jones has created a real oasis of luxury and calm along the banks of the Zambezi which transforms every moment your stay from a... More

From the moment we were picked up, to the moment we left, our experience here has been magical! The setting of this place on the Zambezi River gives you a breathtaking view of the sunset. At night we can hear the hippos by the river making their low "moo" calls. The staff are available for anything you could want. Our... More

Owners recreated hotel with feeling that you are there with Churchill & Hemingway, on bank of the Zambesi with gorgeous charming bungalows on river bank , Food good but nothing special . Service a bit inconsistent; at times difficult to find wait staff outside of meal times. Stay includes some fine excursions--but skip the impoverished village tour.

The reviews on Trip Advisor are the most important factor I use when I choose to stay at high quality property. When I considered where to stay near Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia I read the poor reviews on the River Club from Tanunda on July 9, 2013 and Dan C. on September 19, 2013 and was CONCERNED if the...
