Enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Very cheap at around £6.50 per night. Food that was available was ok, but better just to walk to town to get something. They really tried to push you into doing activities. Really desperate for the commission. The beds were pretty uncomfortable. And they were very cramped for 6 people. It was quite noisy... More

Came down for weekend with friends and loved it. Although our room was MINISCULE (3bunks when only really had space for 2) we were only sleeping there so didn't really matter. Was great to have big under bed lockers too although in both the rooms we stayed in this were broken/ dented/ stiff so took a lot to be able... More

Here's why I could not recommend this place: 1. It was understaffed: I was there for 4 days. Almost every time I went to the front desk, there was no one there. On several occasions, there were lines of more than five people, awkwardly standing there, hoping someone, ANYONE, would return and provide assistance. This got annoying very quickly. 2.... More

Recently stayed at Backpackers for 3 nights in June 2014. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Super clean atmosphere with the pool and music at night. They even went out of their way to mail some personnel belongings to me in the US that I left behind.

My friend and I are currently spending a few weeks backpacking around Zambia and Malawi...we only arrived at Livingstone Backpackers during the early hours of this morning but the service and facilities are exceptional and have compelled me to write this review. We are not your conventional 'early twenties backpackers'...admittedly we are only in our late twenties, but found that... More

Arrived here in early evening after a problem getting a room with a different backpackers, and thank goodness we did. We got a four bed dorm to ourselves (wee bonus) for $12USD pp/night and it's perfectly located near the main road. We were able to walk around and get dinner for a great price at a local after dark. Felt... More

After a terrible experience at jollyboys we came to Livingstone backpackers and were immediately impressed. The staff gave us a tour of the facility and were very welcoming. The pool is beautiful and very clean. The dorm rooms are small but a huge plus was the lock boxes in the room!

I stayed only one night because other accommodation was full. The garden and the atmosphere is cool, however there is lots of room for improvement of the rooms, cleanliness and accommodation in general. First of all they need to fix mosquito nets on the widows and for the beds and to improve other things .... otherwise location in Livingstone is... More

Owned by a British lady, Dawn and the property is quite good. Not too much noise during my 2 night stay. This was not my first choice however when I called the accomodation where I am going to stay I was told its roomful and can't take no more. I was about to go to the terminal already for Livingstone... More

This place is decent for young folks on a tight budget. The grounds are relaxing, with a pool and lounge chairs and periodic events, like Monday night movie nights, though it's a bit grungier than the other options in Livingstone. The communal bathrooms were cleaner than most hostel bathrooms, and the rooms were quite clean, except for the mosquitoes. The... More
