When you check into this place, they wash your hands in the traditional Zambian way which is a lovely way to enter such a grand establishment. But once you've checked in, ineptitude prevails. It took 30 mnutes to get a glass of iced tea with lunch. The shower in my room was broken and took 2 hours to fix (I... more

Our 2-night stay at the David Livingstone was exactly the relaxing start we wished for at the commencement of our 3-week tour. We were greeted personally by the Manager and his staff who provided us with a welcome drink. The location is very good, being close to Livingstone Airport and centre, Victoria Falls and situated on the river. The grounds... more

We stayed at the David Livingstone for three nights mainly for a visit to Victoria Falls. The hotel is set in a beautiful location on the Zambezi River where you can sit and watch the amazing African sunsets. The room we stayed in was spacious with a comfortable bed and decorated in African style with dark wood and white walls... more

My boyfriend took me there for my birthday. We spent four days in this five star resort. The hotel is a hidden gem - it's not yet in the Bradt's zambia guide and there aren't really any other guide books for Zambia. It is the best hideaway for couples (I wouldn't particularly recommend it for families - in my opinion... more

We only had one night here. We were coming off an overland safari so needed a shower (YES!) a good bed and a few things like laundry to be easily arranged. All the facilities we very good. The shower was amazing! What was most interesting about this place was we were almost the only people there. So, everything - spa/massage... more

We (father & teenage son) stayed at the David Livingstone for a few nights in June 2008, and I have to say it was excellent. Our accommodation (second floor room with a balcony overlooking the Zambezi River) was well appointed (flat screen TV, separate bathroom – rather classy, up a few stairs from the bedroom, with 2 basins, separate bath... more

We recently had the pleasure of staying here during a visit to Zambia. The lodge is right on the Zambezi, so much so that conversations were constantly interrupted by the sounds of hippos in the river! The main building is a beautiful thatch complex that fits neatly into the surrounding bush. Not large hotel grounds other than the areas around... more

This Lodge was recommended to us by Wild Wings Safaris and we were not disappointed. It is superbly located on the banks of the Zambezi River approx 7km from Victoria Falls, the spray from which can be seen and just heard from the river bank. Getting to the hotel is quite an experience! The roads around the town of Livingstone... more

The hotel itself is quite nice with a spectacular view of the river as soon as you walk in. The staff are well trained and extremely friendly. Also the activities desk of the hotel is competent and offers basically all there is to do in Zambia. Unfortunately due to high water levels the swimming pool was flooded so we could... more
