7 days of absolutely amazing luxury in a villa with our own indoor pool. One villa to sleep in, one villa to party in, a pool with privacy, amazing views of the beach and sea, superb service, afternoon tea and cocktails in our villa, spirits and soft drinks, M&Ms all included, an outdoor shower, peace, tranquility, a driver to Hoi... The Nam Hai is an interesting property, it should be really great but something is lacking. The place is quite large but was only about 30% occupied when we were there so there was something a bit lonely feeling about the hotel. Our two main issues with the property have to do with the layout both of the room itself... More

The Nam Hai is one of the most beautiful hotels that I have ever stayed in. The entrance is incredibly grand and everyone knew us by our first names. When we arrived, it was raining and the staff came running out to get us with umbrellas. We also took the hotel shuttle from the airport and they greeted us with... More

The Nam Hai is a beautiful hotel set on Vietnam's China Beach. The rooms (villas) are huge and beautifully done. But watch out at night - there are many steps from the bed to the bath and after a few adult beverages, it can be a challenge to negotiate. The villas are set in U shaped groupings and some can... We stayed three nights in Nam Hai while rain swept thru' Central Vietnam. But as my husband put it, Nam Hai is as good as it gets if you're looking for a refuge from the foul weather. Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, the 1- bedroom villa we stayed in had an excellent view of the sea. I spent many blissful... More

We stayed for 8 nights in a one bedroom pool villa (actually we are still here with 2 nights left)- definately worth the extra as these villas are enormous, luxurious, and have full-time butler service. The design of the rooms and the landscaping is superb - I have stayed in many high end hotels including Aman resorts and this one... More

The Nam Hai met - and often exceeeded - our expectations in almost every regard. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly and the management was visible, attentive and helpful. We booked a one-bedroom villa and spent five days here, with occasional visits to nearby Hoi An. The room was delightful, though we found the various levels a bit disconcerting... More

Mixed feelings about this place. The rooms are very cool with modern / oriental design and comfortable but overall the hotel is rambling, lacking charm and either half-built or half derelict in places - it was hard to tell. The beach is not very nice and the sea is a bit tricky, with big currents, but you do have plenty... More

We wanted to try this resort out as we had read about it in Conde Nast and other travel magazines. We were very disappointed, the rooms were very pricey, were quite nice inside but not Aman standard (nor LHW) and were very narrow with a view that left us unsatisfied (almost felt like they had not finished the construction). The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Along a seemingly infinite stretch of sand, amidst Vietnam’s richest cultural heritage, a strand of sophisticated, visually striking villas lines the dramatic beachfront. Inspired by 2,500 years of history, The Nam Hai’s architecture and interior design presents a dramatic play on wind and water inspired by ancient feng shui philosophy and the grandeur of the Tu Doc royal tombs of Hue. Explore the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hoi An, My Son and Hue with its Buddhist pagodas, royal tombs and historic citadels. Return to our calm, tropical shore on Ha My Beach to relax around three expansive swimming pools, in the spa on a lotus pond, over gourmet Eastern and Western cuisine or in the privacy of one of our 100 private retreats, elegantly finished with Vietnamese lacquer and diaphanous silk, some of which are served by a most attentive butler. ... more   less
