I do not like to write less-than-favorable reviews, but I believe there are much better options for a trip to Hoi An than Van Loi. Hoi An is a wonderfully charming UNESCO town. This hotel reflects none of that charm. While only about a 15-minute walk to the Ancient Town, the walk from the hotel to the bridge into town... More

My wife and I stayed 2 nights as part of an Intrepid tour. Good location, 5 minute walk to the shops, market etc. Room was clean and big enough. The pool was refreshing and as it doesn't get much sun, the water temperature remains low enough to be enjoyable. The pool/bar area can be noisy, depending on the guests -... More

This is a basic hotel. Don't expect anything fancy. Beds are hard. Air conditioner leaked. Hot water was an issue. Toilet stopped working. Nice breakfast venue on top floor. View is amazing. Loved the sound of the roosters crowing nearby. A lovely stroll over the bridge to the old town for food, shopping or a drink. I loved Hoi An... More

Only stayed 2 days but had a lovely time. Yes the bathrooms are a little dated but the room was large with a very comfortable bed. Like every place you stay it's the staff that can make or break your holiday. The staff that looked after us did such a great job we've intend to return on our next visit.... More

We stayed here as a part of Intrepid Northbound tour. While it appeared nice on the outside, it had a pool and it was very convenient to town, the rooms were a little dated and amenities (bathroom really) was not very good. Our shower (and the showers of others in our group) dribbled out of the shower head and the... More

Nice hotel, centrally located to markets, restaurants, clothing and souvenir stores. About 5 min walk across the bridge. Clean and good size rooms. Exception was shower hose placed too low (had to use it as handheld shower as I am tall). Pool nice, but, needs a good clean, as mildew between grooves. Coffee cups and kettle available but, no coffee or tea... More

I stayed at the Van Loi hotel with my 2 children for 11 nights in October and could not be happier with the location, cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is located over the bridge, on Cam Nam Island, just a short walk ( or even shorter bike ride) from the old town. Our room was vey... More

We stayed at the Van Loi hotel as part of an Intrepid Indochine tour. The hotel is serviced, quite quaint, and whilst not in the centre of Hoi An is only a short walk into the main attractions. From a family perspective it had everything we needed including decent buffet breakfast and good value for money. It's a three star... More

We arrived as part of a tour for 3 nights. The first impression was ok, but the pool looked very green compared to the photos we'd seen on here (couldn't see the pictures at the bottom), and had signs saying it was not available. We asked when it would be ready and they said "maybe" that afternoon. Thought about moving... More
