I'd say we felt a little disappointed staying here and here's why: When I booked the impression I got was that we were staying with a Vietnamese family. I read about cooking with the family etc and felt As a family we'd be experiencing a Vietnamese way of life a bit more which is not what we found. We checked... More

We planned three nights and stayed for six. This is a beautiful property about 2-3 km from the old city. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are country elegant with views overlooking local rice paddies. Breakfast was first rate. We made daily use of the complimentary bicycles to visit the old city (UNESCO WHS) and the many good restaurants.... More

We found Lemongrass after having spent already some days in a hotel very close to Hoi An old town. The difference was amazing! Suddenly we found ourselves in countryside with huge rice fields only 2 min bike ride and beach 10 min bike ride away. The same goes with the old town. Definately the most pleasant place we stayed in... More

Dear Traveler Thank you for your very kind comments. We are delighted you found our home stay one of the better places you stayed while in Vietnam. We are in the countryside. That means, large rice paddies, ducks, buffalo and roosters. So they do all play a role. Our staff are always very proud when you mention them in your... More

I stayed here recently with a friend and found it to be the perfect retreat . We didn't want the noise of the town but wanted to be close enough for really easy access which it was. The room was very clean, bigger than I had hoped and the bathroom was very clean amd modern. Quynh was especially helpful, extremely... More

If you're visiting Hoi An, stay at Lemongrass, although a little way out of the centre, it is only a 10 minute bicycle ride away, on bicycles supplied free of charge at the homestay, or get a taxi. It is situated about 100 mtrs. off the main road, so blissfully quiet though local restaurants, shops and bars are a short... More

The first impression is that of a nice place, with friendly and helpfull staff. However, if you compare with other places, the picture is somewhat different: we stayed in better places in Vietnam, for less money. A large bed, that is true, but it fills the entire bedroom, no way to move without hurting your toes. Bathroom is fitted by... More

A lovely place to retreat to, after the hustle and bustle of motorbikes and beeps. It is in the countryside, so expect the frogs at night and the roosters at 5 am. I was also lucky enough to spot a small snake meandering along in the sun. Turned out to be a non - venomous little fellow who helps keep... More

We have had a wonderful stay at the Lemongrass Homestay! Most gorgeous caring staff especially Quynh!! Frogs croaking in the evening - very peaceful and quiet. Clean and comfortable, we used the bikes everyday to explore. Highly recommended!

How this is so highly rated has me beat? If you like being stuck in the middle of no-where then book here!! Buffet isn't a buffet, roosters wake you up at 5am (so don't know how this is peaceful & tranquil?), blinds are useless at keeping the sun out (other people have commented but no changes), staff are constantly wanting...
