The rooms were outdated and extremely expensive. (Keep in mind there aren't even TVs in the rooms.) Unbelievable! We were there as part of a larger wedding party and were actually charged higher (!) rates than normal. Nearly every wedding guest I spoke to felt ripped off. On top of the sub-par accommodations, the staff was surly and rude. Two... more

On the positive side, the outdoor flowers & plants we saw were pretty and the gardeners should be commended! On the negative side, we stayed in the one of the rooms in the cottages on site (not main bldg.) It was sorely outdated...contained a very faded, old 80s chintz couch, a weird print of tropical Bali, no style at all,... more

My husband and I stayed at Troutbeck Country Inn October 27 for one night and it was so wonderful. The staff is so pleasant and very accomadating to your needs or to just have a conversation they are great, always us telling fun stories. Our room was #5, over the ballroom, room was enormous, great king canopy bed and nice... more

While the grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful, the inn is tired and in great need of a face-lift. We stayed in a junior suite in the Manor House which is $300 per night (plus state and hotel taxes). For this, we had a tiny bedroom in which the air-conditioning rattled all night as it worked to... more

We recently stayed at Troutbeck for a wedding. I will say that the wedding was beautiful, the property was beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. My chief complaint was the accommodations. The accomodations ARE NOT FOUR STAR! They are 2 1/2 - 3 star maybe. Upon check-in, there was some confusion since there was not a check-in desk... more

Had high hopes for this place, as we wanted to explore the area's real estate, but wish we'd stayed at one of the smaller inns in town. Their website is misleading and makes the food and the rooms look much better than they are. The room was kind of dirty and badly kept. I was afraid to walk barefoot, because... more

My wife & I spent our anniversary at Troutbeck and were not thrilled by the service and quality of the room. Upon arrival, we entered the reception area with no one on duty, but on a table nearby was an envelope with our name on it which included our room number (no key was in the envelope as there are... more

Troutbeck is really splendid. We spent a long weekend here in one of the corner suites (not cheap) but such a refreshing break from New York and just a lovely place to be. The grounds were immacualte with plenty of strolling and the food was wonderful. Everything you want for a weekend at a romantic new england inn in the... more

My fiance and I went here for a weekend in January. We did not get to the hotel until after 11 at night. The manager and bellhop greeted us, brought us up to our room and asked if they could get us some drinks. The bellhop started a fire for us in the fireplace. The room was huge with a... more
