Towards the end of last year I had another trip to Uganda, staying at the delightful Karibu Guest House for a few days both at the beginning and end of my holiday. It is as lovely as ever, a beautiful environment with attention to detail through out. This time I stayed in one of the newer rooms, Lavender, which was... More

Karibu is a magical place to stay for a few days to get a feel for Entebbe and as a great stepping stone to explore a wonderful country. Our hosts were brilliant, the accommodation is quiet, calming and the gardens are great to sit back and have a sundowner or just watch the multitude of birds the garden attracts. Food... More

A tropical garden filled with the sound of birdsong. Brilliant coloured feathers turning sunlight into fleeting fairy lights. Go-away birds crashing through foliage, their raucous calls of relief that the delicate branch, desperate grabbed onto, held their weight. Now if only they could remember what the purpose of it all was about? Situated in a quiet street above the small... More

After refusing to stay in the over priced, soulless hotels that Entebbe has to offer and reading the tripadviaor reviews for Karibu Guest House, I thought I would give it a try... I arrived early on a Saturday morning to be warmly greeted by a smiling Jenny and the offer of a cup of fresh coffee in the garden -... More

What a treat. Huge comfortable bed, serene and beautiful gardens with lovely outdoor eating area, views down to Lake Victoria, my first wildlife sighting of a fishing owl, great food, wonderful staff and a homely feeling. Felt really safe as a solo traveler.

We have stayed twice at Karibu and really like it. Though it looks "African" with lovely gardens and "quaint" buildings, we enjoyed niceties like hot water, horizontal surfaces, great mosquito netting, delicious breakfast, free wi-fi, and efficient airport pick-up that are often lacking even at "big, Western" hotels. We had a delicious dinner one evening (reservations made beforehand). Some small... More

We stayed there over a weekend and it was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated and the mosquito net was the biggest I have ever seen. The staff were friendly and helpful - they came to spray insect repellent and prepare the net around 6 pm. They also helped us get a taxi to town the next morning. The only... More

We stayed recently at the beginning and end of our safari holiday In Uganda. Ideally located after a long flight with wonderful views of Lake Victoria. The garden room we had was ideal with plenty of hot water in the clever and naturally designed shower. A roomy mosquito net prepared every evening by the helpful staff. A safe is a... More

This place is amazing for many things: beautiful yard with lots of greenery and birds chirping all day long, creatively designed accommodation, fantastic food but most of all - because of its staff who are really helpful and nice, especially the couple who is managing the place. They will help you with everything and anything and make you feel almost... More
