We stayed one night at the Rumi on our self-drive tour of Turkey. It is a lovely modern hotel, spotlessly clean. We had a lovely big room on the third floor with a sitting area by the window (no traffic noise as high up) and a huge comfy bed. There is a mini-bar, but no alcohol in the room. Unfortunatly our... more

Very near the premier sights of the city, Rumi has a great view from its rooftop restaurant, which serves a fine breakfast included with the room. Rooms are very small, and our requests for extra pillows went unanswered. English very poor here, and directions therefore unclear to get us to local restaurants. This is not yet a popular area for... more

The bright blue exterior doesn't bode too well, but inside it's a different story. Excellent location just across from the Mevlana, clean, comfortable and friendly. Great breakfast buffet and I got a free upgrade to a suite with a kingsize bed and a direct view of the Mevlana! more

Although well located within sight of the Melvani Museum, the Hotel Rumi features small rooms with poor air conditioning, unhelpful desk staff and a barely functional restaurant. more

This is seemingly THE spot to stay in Konya. Certainly it's near the most famous sites, just feet away. But all the rooms also face the front (or so it seemed), where five different streets intersect. Each has a stop sign. The hotels airconditioning, which the manager said had been fixed at 6 pm of our first night, blew nothing... more

The Rumi is a pleasant hotel but felt more like a hotel for business travelers than someone seeing the sights. Indeed, the only sightseers we saw in Konya were Muslims visiting the shrine or there to see the Whirling Dervishes. The hotel had functional cookie cutter rooms with confortable beds. The rooms were clean although ours did smell of smoke.... more

Location, location, location. Near Rumi's tomb and with several good restaurants in walking distance. Only drawback was they billed us on making reservation the told us no cancellation was possible. We were there for the ruins and didn't see any other hotel options. more

The hotel is right across the street from Mevlana (Rumi) Museum and is relatively new. The breakfast is good, and there is a great view of the Mevlana from the terrace where you eat. The room was sold as non-smoking but clealy was not. It was clean and basic and small. Not even one chair to sit in. There was... more

Don't be put off by the lurid turquoise exterior. This is an attractive place to stay. The location is great - over the road from the from the Mevlana Museum, a short walk from the Alaadin Mosque with its lovely surrounding gardens and the Karatay Museum with its spectacular tiles. In fact it is not too far on foot from... more

We (wife, son (21) and I) stayed at Rumi Hotel in late December 2008. Although we only stayed one night, this would definitely be on our list of places to stay when we return some day. The hotel has a perfect location, being literally a block away from the Mevlana Museaum and Mosque on several blocks to the Mohammed Mosque... more
